I have been on discord since 10 and because everyone around me were so "boring" to me I would turn to people online. I guess I could say I grew up here. For years I went on without socialising in real life. So I built many relationships on here where its platonic or romantic which is just errr to me. I had friends I guess but didn't know how to talk to them like I talk to people online. So I'm in high school rn and im now going to a new school and keep in mind I was so bad at talking in my old school so I feel like it's a new start + it's 2023 I wanna change. How can I be social again? bc I don't wanna mess up I need to touch grass for once 😭

My only advice rn is to reframe how you approach meeting a new person. often, we tell ourselves " I hope they like me..." This sets us up for anxiety and eagerness to please, so we either pretend to be someone we're not, or cave in to the pressure.
So, instead of hoping they'll like you, tell yourself: "I hope I like them!" This takes pressure off of you and transfers it onto them.
If you find that they're not your type of people, that's okay; not everyone gets along. But you are making an effort to make friends, and that's that.
Finally, be true to yourself. Don't be someone you're not for the sake of friends. If they like you, that's great. If not, look at the paragraph above.
