I would like to use my own emojis/post pet pics/ do stuff that active users do, but no matter how hard I try I cannot get the active role and it’s kinda discouraging. Can you possibly lessen requirements or at least share what we have to do officially to be labeled active by the bot? I’ve tried to talk as often as I can and it doesn’t seem to be working. Thanks!!! (Also I really hope this doesn’t sound mean, I’m really bad at getting things to sound polite.)

Getting the active role requires a bit more activity over a longer period of time. When the role is granted, you will earn the ability to post images and links in chat. The threshold to obtain the role is high to ensure nobody spams or stays active for a few days only to abuse the perms the roles come with to post inappropriate content. If you keep being active, you will eventually earn the role.

^In addition to this, users can only achieve a certain amount of "XP" towards the role each day, and it will not count all messages if they are sent in a short amount of time (in other words, it has a "spam filter"). Moreover, there's decay on the role; If people are inactive for some time, they might lose it.

really? there have been times where i have been inactive, such as the majority of ss2 where i wouldnt post in the discord for months but i have been pretty active recently.

If you keep up the activity, you might get the role soon. But if you become inactive again, the role might be automatically removed (there's a bot that manages this).
