I’m trying to like this season, but it just so damn boring, and it collab filled

More like an encounter, he wants to be left alone and gives you a tome to make you leave. If you interact with the bookcase tho, he attacks you and is surprisingly strong too. I drew him being surprised by the player. And his bookcase ofc.

I mean even if they did cut down on collabs into future seasons, it's not like Chapter 7 will get better anyway especially if their priorities aren't doing the best.

I do agree that they need to wind them down, but I genuinely don't think it's gonna get any better.

I mean aesthetically, I prefer C6S1. The only issue would be the size of the map was a little too big after considering.

C7S1 I can appreciate that they we're trying to do some major changes (some cool, others not).

But yeah, I just don't like how the current state of the game is in terms of bugs across the whole game and not much going on in the BR sense at the moment.

And then certain part of Epic's practices are just rubbing me the wrong way too. 😖

knuckles is technically older, probably because in media its usually battle hardened = jaded = older, but sonic being slightly older honestly makes more sense to me given how he seems to have way more life experience (granted thats mostly circumstantial because knuckles was thrown on an island for most of his life but)

might be because my generation (who was barely even born when sa2, the game i mostly associate sonic with, was released) has generally embraced whimsy more

It was never retconned. They feel like adults and are force to act like adults but they are teenagers with few exceptions. For example Sonic is 15-16, Tangle is 15, Whisper 16, Silver 14-16, Blaze 14-17. Cream is 6, Tails is 8, Charmy probably around 6. From adults there are Vector, Vanilla, Eggman, Mimic or Dr Starline.
Retcon would have to be done through game and it never happened so far.

It's not like the gameplay this season is even that bad, just that this season's too long and hasn't really been pushing too much on the narrative as maybe some would've hoped.

Also the bugs since the January updates.

And maybe the frequency in collabs have been a little much comparing to past seasons to where it should've took it down a notch.

I don't even think their designs look bad as much as people think, they look fine. It just wasn't what folks wanted cuz of leaker's being misinformed and it caused this. x/

Honestly, as much as this season has been a "little" much with collabs. It's why I also wouldn't want so little into future seasons, because collaborations are such a gamble to what they could pick out whether they're good or just very bad picks (whether subjectively or objectively).

At the same time, I do agree that this season's been pretty short with original skin/cosmetics (for the Shop) in this season and it would've been nice to see a little more original stuff to even between the two types and to cater those fans.

Maybe something a little closer to Chapter 6, Season 1 in terms of scope between Originals & Collaborations.
