What if they determined how many crown shards you obtained based on the players in the lobby? That way, if a region can only find a dozen players, the winner only gets 24 crown shards. It still gives them the reward, but proportionate to the difficulty of the win.

randoms so horrible you constantly derank because they can't qualify round 1 or 2
