i believe the true downfall started in march 2021

following epic's acquisition of mediatonic, season 4 showed that the vision for the game had shifted

season 4 removed a lot of personality from the game, from stuff as small as the old startup screen to fundamentally reworking the physics to remove a lot of the chaos that the game originally focused on

and overtime it just kinda accelerated

when they rebranded in s7 i think that's the most blatant showing of how they lost the original vision for the game

a game that was never meant to be so huge. it was simply meant to be a silly party game

i mean i play double claw on controller and i have for years so aiming and doing other things at once feels natural to me but i've seen a few skilled gyro players before so if it suits them then that can be very beneficial to their playstyle i suppose but personally i benefit a lot more from simply sticking with traditional aiming
