Yeah no it's a lot of work that takes years to do. That's why it seems Mediatonic barely touched the game itself in 2 years and left it to contractors or rolling out unreleased features from like 2022/2023. It's not unheard of, although mostly done as sequels/rebuilds.

While maintaining a good built of the PlayStation 4/5, Xbox, switch, IOS, Android, and make the steam launcher actually launch the game.

But usually those ports are done by outside studios so they focus on the base PC version. Not to mention the Fortnite base seems to be a factor in it

Look it's 2026 I think the ship has sailed (I'm one of those who completely skipped the end of Legacy and FFA because of Epic)

they'll definitely lose Linux players though. Honestly FG kinda has a reception of being a Linux game nowadays.

But years have passed and kinda just accepted it. It sucks and needs to improve (although it seems they're slowly adding some needed changes recently), but the launcher wars is somewhat more embarrassing than the console wars
