Getting Gold in ranked extremes is a pretty good challenge I think for the average player base. I think asking players to always reach finals to stay safe and win to advance is the bare minimum for an "extreme" competitive game mode

though it does showcase the skill gap/ceiling too, since experienced players familiar with things like the mechanics, physics, level patterns etc can often dominate a room and lead to early elims for more casual players.

not that there's anything wrong with being a more casual player, but yeah modes that cater to competitive players will often feel too demanding, imo.

I'm like in that in-between where I've played almost since launch so I'm VERY familiar with the game but I've never played it super hard core so I'm not as good as dedicated players so it was a modest challenge for me xD

just as a note while back right spawn on it can easily be a death sentence on trick or trapeze, you can still occasionally pull off a win as long as you can keep up with lead pack relatively well, you just have to time your grabs well. And for clarities sake, I am not saying that doing that is easy cause it is far from it, but it is possible.

What is more a instant loss is for you to end up missing a jump on the path, more so than spawn point.

You can't just hold forward to actually take advantage of the left spawn, you have to wait just enough for the right most spawn to catch up.

Left spawn has to wait a bit when jumping otherwise you'll just drop to the slime after the first boost and right most spawn doesn't have to wait at all. In my experience spawn is 100% irrelevant for winning Trick or Trapeze. I can definitely understand the only one path argument, I guess I just don't find it bad personally.

I'd say that left spawn definitely helps you escape the early grabbing chaos and even though you have to wait for others later on due to the axe and trapeze, it's definitely a lot easier to win from there after escaping the initial grabbing chaos at the start which is often times a deciding factor of win or loss

I mean it's not like I'm gonna cry from getting the map but I personally think it has its flaws and I personally don't think it should be in ranked because even the gameplay of the map itself isn't fun imo

What I learn is that grabbers usually get nowhere in the finals. They can grab multiple times but somehow in the end, they always die. I mean that was my games so far.

Exhibit A. Banana and Blue Bean were grabby in all of Hoverboard Heroes. They both didn't win.

Exhibit B. A Yellow and Black Bean tried to grief me to get hit by a rhino. They got hit and eliminated instead and I lived that round.

After 3 days of almost non-stop grinding (only stopping to shower, eat, etc.) in the last cycle, I still didn't make it to superstar.

Yep thing is not for me, also I don't recommend anyone grinding for so many hours, after a while it becomes way too stressful, and unhealthy, even if you are a pro. Remember to take a break, everyone, games are made to be fun and not a chore.

I think MT will probably change whether reaching the final gives you points or not based on mode. Xtreme mode is supposed to be harder, so winning to get points make sense.

This is squads, where unless you party up, billy no brain and his partner in crime johnny own goal can ruin your chances through no fault of your own, so makes sense being a bit more forgiving.

Wouldn't be shocked that Xtreme ends up being the only one that needs you to win to get the rewards.

When I started playing yesterday, they were unity maps, and then later changed to creative. Such a shame, it was a nice mix when it started, got to silver easily, and then spent about 4 hours climbing from silver to gold with those creative maps :(

I have never been able to survive the first 10 seconds or so of Castle Siege for instance

@mewtwo as I actually told you clear back on Tuesday you waited too late and put it off till the last minute that is entirely ok your end. I went back and you were posting as of 3am my local time at least stating that you were still at ace 3 at that point. That was literally 5 hours before the reset about not being able to find lobbies. I also told you at the time that I had been able to find lobbies just fine that morning by switching to European servers. Now I don't know if whether or not your possibly being on console etc may have caused issues. However regardless waiting until that late to try to make up a minimum of 8 sub ranks, when you had a full two months of ranked is not the games fault

And I am sorry if that comes across as harsh but it is the fact of the matter

I made it to ace 5 and with liek one final to go to star but had the disconnection issue for hours causing no points so I had it , by the time things were working and when I switched servers it was too late so don’t tell me I waited to long when I had it in my hands if there wasn’t server issues I would of had it meaning my planing was ok I wasn’t expecting seever issues like that the not finding lobby thing ok fine but that’s not what caused the problem

I actually had most of the ranks needed trying to get that birthday pattern (which I couldn’t get in the end)so it’s not like I had just started ranked that night or was at silver i literally had star rank in hand but servers didn’t want me to have it

At this point what would probably best would be to accept that you didn't get there and move on and focus on the current season. I do wish you the best of luck this season in getting superstar in ranked knockouts, as well as gold in squads ranked if you are trying for that as well though

I talked to support they couldn’t do anything they said “discounts counts as eliminations so we can’t award points or items” so getting 0 points in cricuial hours when I should of gotten +5 or +50 based on when I was eliminated based on thier logic doesn’t help only got zero for hours because it crashed before the final loaded as if I never played it did that for a good 2-3 hours which I tried to explain to them but they didn’t listen

I think I want to talk to a meditonic dev over epic support instead on the issue

Mostly on Castle Siege because I haven't played it in so long and I forget about the planes because I'm focused on the hex tiles and the chickens

I assume you can still leave a show early to avoid losing points
that is the only reason I see this show being much more forgiving than xtreme

can just bail if it looks like you're going to lose, which is often apparent well before the time limit hits zero

still can't say I'm a fan of the playstyle of having to be conscious of what appears to be an impending elimination and having to keep my finger ready on the "leave show" button, which is what taking points away from people if they lose encourages
