Like you can say in Fortnite you have essentially a 1/100 chance, and while yeah in probability, yes, but there's other factors that heavily influence that like skill, allowing you to win like 10+ games in a row

The only way to make it actually harder is to use the same system that Mastery Ranked uses of not giving points in the final round in Star to prevent grinding points without winning, and that implies having to make Mastery Ranked harder because it's "Mastery" and it can't just be the same difficulty as Ranked KO, so I don't know if that's a possibility

If you liked the X-ranked mode, that's fine. But for the sake of mental health and sanity, don't play this.

I'll offer a few comments on that. My own opinions of course. I just had this conversation with a few friends in another group and you are not wrong. It takes a toll mentally and physically. I've already got hand issues from working with computers for 30+ years and by the time I got , my hands were shaking so bad I couldn't even hold the controller. Every time I'd get the slightest bit lazy I'd get trolled in round 1 or 2 and dropped back a level. I also don't change my skin so you start to get targeted a lot. So not only are you dodging XXXXXs the first 2 rounds who aren't really playing, you've got to face the best of the best in the last 2 rounds. If you are confident enough to consistantly get to round 4 every time, you have a chance at .

My best advice is to avoid trying to get revenge on someone messing with you because that wastes time and positions and avoid clusters of people in rounds 1 and 2.

If it were me, I'd get rid of the cushion at level 1 and have it drop you all the way back to Contender level 1. You are going to weed out a lot of trolls by doing that.

you just have to play a bit more cautiously in the first two rounds, then it's game on - if you aren't a final round regular, this mode isn't for you

I definitely don't make it to the final a lot of the time in this mode
playing it safe didn't work for me because most of the people playing this are serious enough to the point where if you don't go fast, you don't qualify
sometimes I will lose on See Saw simply because my spawn point was on the far right side (disadvantageous position, because the path through the first area is always on the left side). luckily you can see this loss coming a mile away, so I just leave the game early to avoid being eliminated

but having to stay constantly ready to quit out of a match just to avoid losing points is precisely how I -don't- want to have to play a game like FG

a lot of what you are saying it true, especially the further spawn points to start maps, but if you know the map back to front and know the fastest routes, you'll manage - instead of leaving the game, hang around and spectate some of the people in front and take notes - i picked up a few really good shortcuts and speed boosts that give you just enough advantage to qualify/win - probably half of my final wins were a matter of millimeters and waiting until the very last millisecond to extend my jump fall for a victory - in rounds 1 and 2 you can take longer routes to avoid people, in round 3 you have to be fast and precise

it's not a game mode for the casual gamer, at all

Here are my notes from watching you play:

• your map skills are great, just don't worry about being #1 cause it makes no diff until round 4 - round 3 is good to be fast tho
• don't get distracted - pop-ups and things on your desktop are the difference between finishing and dying - i never have anything else going on that overlaps the game, ever - deliveries can wait, phone calls can wait, wife can wait even though she's going to be mad (lol)
• work on your finals strategies - you are making tiny planning mistakes that are the difference between victory and defeat (totally normal)
• work on your long jump lurch forward for that last little boost forward
• save that super jump until the last millisecond before falling to your death - it's been the difference between victory and defeat for me too many times to count

You can get to round 4 easily pretty much every time so just work on your finals.

slightly behind wherever it's going to land - if you are facing the net and the circle is in front of you, move slight back from the center and jump - that is your aiming angle - if you are in the middle of the circle, it's going to go straight up

sometimes you may want to pop it straight up on a return so your next hit can be angled

the further away from the center you are, the lower the angle of your hit

i'm no pillar of the FG community by any stretch and my reviews lately have been less than glowing, but the ranked modes have been a breath of fresh air that was desperately needed for those more skilled - X-treme Solos Ranked is the best thing to happen to the game since it launched - i haven't been bored since - Ranked Cycles and Events are keeping the game relevant

there are plenty of other modes if you are losing your mind at Ranked

That’s unfortunate

My biggest problem is that Xtreme Ranked is just not fun nor rewarding. Even if you win, it’s not even satisfying because you know it’s so easy to drop back down to what you worked so hard to get up to.

I worked my way to Silver 5 last night, dropped to 4, and fell down to 2 today. So essentially a whole day of progress basically for nothing.

So many Finals reached only to come short and gain nothing, and so many people who grab early game to eliminate you and lose 1/3 of your progress that took hours to achieve. All because they felt like it? People who like this point distribution are actually sadistic in a manner of causing suffering for fun, knowing they’ve chopped someone’s progression in half by “hehe lemme ruin their day by grabbing them with zero consequence ^^”

There is no joy of progression (or in general) with this mode. But if that’s what they were going for, they certainly knocked it out of the park. I hope they never hit again.

I pray they fix the progression of this to AT LEAST make eliminations, especially early game more lenient.

In a game where it’s more common to lose than be the number one winner, what this mode demands of players is unreal.

Like, up it from 50 per subtier to 100-200. That way a -15 to some jank or nonsense isn’t as demoralizing. Winning will still guarantee tiers with +200, and it can still punish failure without any reward with deductions from early elimination. The room for error shouldn’t be as tight as it is, especially when elimination is super likely.

Yes, and that's why Xtreme makes it way harder compared to Ranked KO, but it may not be that different if it was another show where everyone eventually reaches the finish line without getting eliminated earlier by grabbers or invisible qualification limits

Like, Xtreme makes it so there can be a final round with only 3 players left, but in a regular non-Xtreme show that barely happens, so less people lose points

I still think that this Mastery Ranked is as sweaty and tryhard as it is just because the highlighted show is Xtreme Solos, but it'll be easier if they change it

Yeah, and at star you need 200 points to go up a subrank. So 20 finals for each subrank.

Xtreme you need 50 at silver. So only 10 finals if you hand out +5.

Half the finals for the "harder" mode.

That can be said for any mode than requires wins.

Golden Hotdog needed 3 wins in 2 days originally (might have been 3 days, can't remember). Win or it was all for nothing.
Trick or Treat needed 3 wins on the trick show (3 rounds with a mix of slimescraper and slime climb, 1 winner), all for nothing if you were not the fastest bean on the last rounds.
Idol games needed multiple wins to get a costume. All for nothing if you can't win.

Other than having a number attached, xtreme rank is no different. You win or it's for nothing.

That condition was fine in the past on numerous events.

I don't think it should be changed, I don't see why it's so bad to have a completely optional playlist for beans that want more of a challenge, if it's too hard you can just ignore it, same as any other event.

If you must give out points, then +2. That makes it 25 finals for each subrank at silver. That's more than you need in normal ranked at Star, so keeps it harder.

I don't think it needs changing though. It's suppose to be a hard mode, it's not the main ranked, just a little extra.

I saw gold knight and I was like "3000+ crowns?! I'll never get that many"

Most of my finals wins were in the hex-a finals. There's 3 different and then I got the final win in jump showdown but won that because of grabbing

I never won a roll off this time. Can't time out. But I can win roll offs in the normal ranked matches

Normal ranked for Super Star is much easier and the final pool has some finals where it's much easier for many to time out for everyone to get the crown

Lily Leaper Limbo is obviously a lot easier than Xtreme mode, but it's still not that easy. You need to know all the skips and tech to get 1st place in lily. But it isn't as punishing since it's free to get to the final. Maybe to fix that they should make wins in silver only award 20 points instead of the full 50.

the lobbies are very competitive and I could easily lose in any round, thus why any time I managed to get a win it wasn't long before I was back down to zero

try to go fast, get killed by collisions or grabbers
try to take time to avoid collisions or grabbers, end up being eliminated due to not qualifying in time

there were even some early rounds where I was legitimately going as fast as I felt like I could, with no notable slowdowns, and I still ended up not making it to the finish in time 🤷

for instance, if you get See Saw and your starting point is on the far right, you might as well just leave the lobby
