I find the touch controls on mobile too small, switch has its disadvantages tho. Slower at times. Lag sometimes but yes it is fine and enjoyable on switch

Meta mons don’t always mean best mons. For example. Buzz is back to being meta after recent buffs. Same for blastoise. But if you can’t play buzz at a high level. It’s not gonna feel meta. So what I’m trying to say is no matter if meta or not. If the player can play there mon then meta does not matter. I play glaceon and cinder a lot. Both not meta. Both of them I cook with. Hard carry games easy.
Embs are embs. Personally I don’t even really need them but that’s me

But I totally agree that you don't have to choose the S class pokemon if you know how to play well. And even if you do choose a good pokemon, not knowing how to play won't help you win

Like for me as a player who plays pretty much every role and quite a few different mons in each role. I find it hard to play my main role of jungle because everyone wants to play squishys in lane 😂. So I try to filler and most the time that ends up bad
So when I just give in and play my mains we have like maybe 1 defender/support. if I’m lucky

Yk, I'm so guilty of this, but everyone wants to play jungle. And no one wants to play/is good at defending or support. But it's one of those things where: I'll play defender if everyone else is fighting for jungle, but you sure as heck best believe imma judge so hard if whoever fought me for jungle sucks at it.

Ya, idk. I don't mind being the worst player defender or supporter if the rest of my team is just playing super well. Like, I'll die as a defender so that my 4 kill streak jungle can get that 5th kill and not die. That's fine. I feel like ppl shouldn't play defenders if they're not willing to self sacrifice so that their teammates on a super high kill streak/high level advantage can continue to stay alive and run away. Cuz like... idk. I feel like support/defenders aren't the ones that will carry the kills. And it's more important that the other team stays 3 levels behind the jungler than get one kill on a defender that's the same level as them

Ty ty, I'm not the best player, and as a returner, I'm sure as heck not gonna claim to make perfect plays every game. But I just try to be a good teammate and have fun. Personally, if I lose a ranked match, and it even slightly pissed me off, I'll just step away for the day. I feel like with MOBAs, the second you're angry, you're setting yourself up to lose the game

Yeah I’m the same. I’m just an average player who knows a lot about macro. Mechanics and Pokémon mechanics. Like Ino a lot. I have a lot of game experience/skills like awareness and that. I’m no where near perfect but I play to be a good teammate. I’m the same. Too many losses and I’m done. As i struggle mentally coping with the sheer amount of egotistical people in the game who still play shocking but claim to be sooo good.
But I relate 💯 with the defender part. I remember a game I was lax. My team were so bad except my jungle leaf. They were on god like level. So obviously me as lax and a good player pick up on this and when I say I was glued to this mofo. I was like a fly stuck on sh**

This wiggles literally made sure I got my attack weight stacks as early as possible. I was higher level than my jungle we stomped top lane so hard the enemy went bot lane cuz they didn’t secure any top lane farm 🤣
Wiggles even solo ulted cuz garde ulted me 😂. We were so in sync. They would run in and sing. I’d be there to follow up and get the kill.

Cuz the bot match was the first win, and then the next game I won said win streak x2... sooo ig they're just making it extremely easy for returning players to rank through since you literally get bonus points per match already

Nah honestly the fact that you’re thinking this says a lot about your skill level. I’d go ahead and continue ranked. For draft I’d say try to pick up a few mons for each role but don’t worry too much.
Even playing mons in ultra now to practice and get better would also be fine. Aslong as you are aware of the mon and some of its mechanics you should be fine.

I'm not worried about jungling since most of my pokemon that I'm confident with are Jungle. For defenders, I'm fine with Lapras/slowbro. If you have any suggestions for attackers/support to learn, please lmk. I'm good with Alolan ninetails, but wanna get good at more attackers in case that one is banned/taken for draft. Lane you can’t go wrong with say pika or espeon. Supports. Elde is great. Blissey is also good. Clef is also really good as they heal aoe. Defenders. Blast is really strong now. Lax is also pretty decent. Mamo can be a pain and has cc.
Oh and wiggles with sing and double slap. No joke. With a good follow up laner say like a range. This is too fun

Is it just me or does the selection time for bans in ranked feel wayyy too short. Like, given lag time, sometimes I'll be trying to scroll my way to psyduck or darkrai on switch and it'll just freeze and stop over some random mon instead because the ban timer literally just picks whatever you were hovering on like 2 seconds before the time runs out💀

I was trying to make a higher damage sustain build that would be good as a defender and party healer with wish and was wondering what times stack best with attack weight. Muscle weight, rapid scarf, focus band is nice for higher damage output with faster basic attacks but I was wondering what would be best with razor claw/attack weight combo to also help with party sustain. Exp share I feel like is great early game as a defender cuz you can just let your attacker take all the wild mons, but it kinda becomes useless later in game (cuz solo q doesn't always have best players) so I was wondering what item combos people use to be less reliant on party members doing well
Exp/guard/ focus band is nice when you have a good party, but i feel like you don't do as much damage with it (so it's not the most reliable for soloq imo)

Weight focus/guard and then maybe razor/rapid or float stone. I’d try and keep one tank item as you are still a defender but you could take them out for cookie and just double stack. As I do think it does have some gains from stacking cookie aswell.

Safe guard and helping hand seems to be popular now. Works best with a pressers. But my go too always is soft boiled and egg bomb. Items I have rn are exp share spoon and guard. But you can swap spoon and guard for say wise or spec stacks and guard for buddy or focus

So many ppl just troll or afk entirely when the opposing team has a rapidash because it's just so op that even if you have the perfect play, your team will lose if the other team's rapidash has any clue how to play.

One game I had a lapras, gengar and Pikachu all tryna run jungle😭 and I was like omg wtf is this team doing. Zero coordination whatsoever. Soloq is just crack sometimes. But I swear the lapras just did it to spite the Pikachu player because the two of them were my opponents the previous game and we beat them pretty hard, so in matchmaking when we were picking characters, the Pikachu was greeting the lapras over voice chat and I think the lapras player was just not having it and tried to throw the match by going for center from the start. Idk, we still won tho cuz I stole all the objectives with Glaceon, sooo🤷♀️
It was pretty goated because I was playing with this super awesome Ho-Oh player and he had my back so he'd just keep reviving me and I was on a killing spree. Two of us made a rlly good team going for all the objectives together 🥰 we 2v5 killed the other team like 3 times due to some epic timed ults

Smart strike and fairy wind are nice but still are nowhere near the level the other moveset has

I haven’t played much of the pony but the only moves I’ve tried has been gleam agility.
I saw fairy wind played and the dmg was weak 😂 and smart strike is just ass. 9sec cd.

I tested it on solo mode (easy) post patch
Wind/strike did around 170k and gleam/agility did 230k
Plus the latter moveset lets you get away with things way more than the former

Yeah. Oh I’ve played it in ranked on my alt and it’s pretty busted. I wasn’t even running the best items either lol. Just full attack items. Spoon wise choice. I’m sure others run shell bell and specs but even without stacks I did like 100k in ranked. 1st game with it

Buutttt, turns out you can earn skins via those mystery surprise boxes you get for playing full fury mode
And since the only requirement to get those gifts is to play a few 5 min quick matches (and ppl usually surrender around ~3 min if they have a bad team comp or are losing) it's actually quite easy to get some interesting rewards ig😅

How I learned how to play different roles
My main roll is attacker hyper carry jungle. So how I taught myself how to play defender and support was to do things I expected my supports and defenders to do for me as a hyper carry. Picked them up pretty quickly
