Go to tools -> data -> encounter database. search for the pokemon you want. You can hover over it to see where it's from so make sure you get one from PLA, and make sure it's not from a Massive Mass Outbreak (MMO), then right click the pokemon you want and click view. Then you can close that window and the pokemon should be there in pkhex for you to edit

Then just save when you're done and it will create a file for you

If the poke in your receiving was only obtain via an event, it will automatically put it in a cherish ball, as its only found in them.

Also the pinned messages in the #swordshield-bot chat go through what pokemon are unobtainable by legit means.

The only event shinies you can't get rn are the Galar birds. Because;

1. There are still two competitions coming up to distribute Mortres and Zapdos (Both Galar versions in shiny form)

And 2. The bot needs to be updated to support those as legal but I think they aren't planning to update it until post competition.

You don't need any extra lines. As long as you have the information that would generate an event pokemon it will be placed in a cherish ball.

The OT, would’ve been the thing to specify that it was caught by you. You placing your name there, sets it as you caught it

Whether the Pokémon is caught by you or not, it’ll still follow what the star rule is. Pretty sure the minimum was star rank 8

Also for IVS, I’m not really sure since I’ve never really tried it- but from what I know, you’ll have to set those stuff in PKHex, for ivs to be set in place.

But what your saying is that regardless of whether its traded or caught if it exceeds your star rank it will not listen. The only exception would be your starter. Is that right?

But yes, regardless of being traded or not, the Pokémon you’ve chosen at the very beginning of the game will follow your words, just like the original games had it done. But traded Pokémon, whether it’s caught by you or not, will still follow what has been set.

ok. Yeah all i have been changing is shiny or alpha, along with maxing the IV's and the GV's, which make the grit levels 10, and I have also been maxing EV's, but only the HP and either Attack or Sp. Attack, and then dumping the last 6 points into speed. Not sure if this has any effect in PLA, but one of the tutorials I watched the guy recommended maxing HP and whatever attack your pokemon uses, then putting the last three in speed for a total of 510 points in the EV category.

If you want it in orgin form you have to get the item in game (it will be in your key items pocket)

@magic magnet we have asked people not to use Pokémon showdown for pla/legends bots

And also deoxys isn’t even in legends arceus

The only way for a file to be seen as pa8, is when you hit “Tools” section, “Wild Encounter,” then making sure which OT version you wish to have it on. For pa8, you’d need to click Legends Arceus, and at that will change the file to pa8, as they’re other versions of a game, which would be a completely different file name.

You’d need to change the OT version to Sword and Shield, or if it shows SWSH. Though, I’m pretty sure PkHex should be used only for Legends Arceus, or rather there is a better way to utilize it.

Hello. Question regarding the PLA Trade Bot. I am having trouble getting it to give me a level 50 Braviary even though I specify a level 50. I am formatting my request by using Pokemon Showdown (though I have to manually type in the Esper Wing move). Is there a better/different template to use for formatting my Arceus requests?
