you can do .convert instead of .trade tho and it’ll give you a file with a gender already attached

This is only true for events in gen 8, events from other gens can be nicknamed, this is because in most gens you'd get the same screen as if you caught a wild Pokemon, gen 8 just puts the Pokemon in your Party or Box instantly
