BBQ is the name of the stuff in the last DLC, its a point thing. Its faster to gain them with groups, but also there is a solo and or group version of them too for post game stuff

what are they used for

so you really "need to do both ways" solo and group.
its just small quests like pick up 10 items from the ground. Catch a certain type or pokemon, auto battle 10 times etc

you can use them to get items, like evolving items. Pokeballs, change your throwing style. Get some upgrades to the camera. get the starter pokemon from other gens. You need 3k each so 12k if i recall to get the starters to start showing up in the areas in the dlc.

Its more the currency in the dlc

so hit the menu, go to poke portal. Hit L make sure you are connected to internet. Then go down to link trade. Set a small password whatever you want then i have to too and we can trade
