Another Jenny 5.2HR pro 2

So the usual reviews for the 5.2 HR hold true. Pros for me:

• Chipset looks consistent
• Good ANC. There are 3 ANC modes in Airreps156X, I chose FF as it has the least static. I honestly don't know what those are.
• Good sound. I adjusted EQ using Airreps156X, set it to EQ6. I only have Airpods 2 and Sennheiser 4.5BT as references

Not so good (based on other review claims):

• Someone claimed that transparency is like not having the airpods at all. Talking with it on still sounds weird.
• Tested the Spatial audio on an ipad pro, I don't know how it performs on a real one but this has some lag. like when I look right, the audio shifts to the left ear after about half a second.
• I cannot get the "swipe to adjust volume" to work on either Android or ipad or macbook

All in all, good value for $60

ok I figured out the volume swipe. It should be quick swipes not a slow one as if a DJ is preparing to drop the bass. Each swipe turns the volume up or down in ~10% increments

There is a known bug in macbook where the volume is only full or off. (e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/airpods/comments/sjh71c/my_airpods_pro_are_connected_to_my_macbook_but/)

Apparently it also happens to gen airpods but the solutions like restarting the mac or killing a running daemon doesn't work for my rep. If anyone knows how to solve it, I would be grateful!

I played yt airplane noise in my macbook while the airpods was connected to the phone. I couldn't hear anything at half volume but started hearing some of it at around 60% volume. I believe it would work still if I were in a real plane cabin.

Sound of people talking are reduced but you can still hear what they are saying.

I can say it's as good as my Sennheiser 4.5BTNC but not as good as the more expensive Sony XM4 or Bose QC35 ii (these are around ear headphones)

I used Airreps156X mainly to verify the chipset. I saw that it has some settings for EQ and tried them. Actually I'm not so sure if the EQ settings persist on the airpods themselves or if it only works when the app is installed. I still need to confirm this.

It would halve the noise if the airpods is not playing anything. If you are listening to music or watching, then you won't notice the outside noise, it will be drowned

Yes, reddit and even here says it's only the TB that is affected. The HRs apparently also have the bug. Not a deal breaker for me though at this price point
