Hello there! Gonna do a quick but honest review on my pair of V5.1's, which I received today. These are great reps for their price, and I'm definitely recommending based on my unit I got from HiCity.

Shipping: 10/10

I got them in just 8 days from China all the way to Austria. 4PX and DPD were the shipping carriers.

Customer service: 10/10
Jack is always friendly and tries to give his best to help you out. I'm copping all my reps from his shop, so therefore, that's gonna be a 10 of 10.

Sound quality: 9/10

Honestly, these reps have much better sound quality than my previous V4.8 (AirPods Pro Gen1 rep). And I don't know why some people complained about the bass, it's actually great! However, it doesn't get as loud as my V4.8, as the V5.1 using 7mm drivers, while the V4.8 are based on 13mm drivers.

Features (ANC/Transparency)

ANC: 8/10

I have tried original AirPods Pro 2.
And I have to say that ANC is almost 1:1. That's great for this price. No, the original Pro2's are not blocking out all noises for 100%. It's just reducing the amount of noises you hear, mostly in a quiet way.

Transparency: 10/10

Absolutely amazing, original AP Pro 2's are just a tiny bit better than the V5.1.

Force touch controls: 10/10

Can't complain about all of the controls. They work just fine, and I hope they do work anytime.

Microphone quality: 8/10

Absolutely fine. Records fine, call quality is good too. Could be a little bit clearer, but it's okay considering the "low" price I got them for.

Spatial audio: 7/10

Works, but I'm never gonna use it. Chinese voice plays when switching between Spatial audio modes.

Battery life: 9/10

Used for almost 3h, with 36% volume, and still had 62% remaining. Keep in mind that it's the first day, so this numbers will probably change in the future.

Conclusion:

All in all, these are great reps for that price. Highly recommending them. HiCity sells them for 50$ excl. shipping at the moment. Most likely, it's gonna be 58$ with shipping.

ANC is not completely "blocking" voices, especially when there's no media playing. It'll just make them quiet, but you'll definitely hear all voices around you. Computer fan sounds and wind noises are getting blocked though. You won't hear noises when there's audio playing with at least 15/20% volume.

They won't, as HiCity told me that they're not gonna remove the chinese voice, but they're gonna add some additional features such as customised ANC and Transparency mode. And some stability improvements. And that'll probably take a couple of months.

Well, I've tried ANC on the real Pro2's and it's a tiny bit better, especially that there's no popping noise when for example you're in a bus and if the doors are closing, you hear a "pop" noise on the V5.1 clones..

So I'd say it's comparable to the ANC of the retails, the retails being 20-30% better though. (ANC/Transparency)

If you want the AirPods Pro 2 features, go for the V5.1. You won't regret it either.

There's a chinese voice (if you use Android) when you switch between head tracking modes. Never use 3D Audio so therefore it's not a big deal for me.

but if you have android, I highly suggest upping the sensitivity of the buttons on the airpods themself. It is hard to press, could be fixed with android if you download "superbullhr" (was told to me, haven't tried yet)

I got myself some Nothing Ear 2 and they work perfectly fine, great sound, much better ANC (compared to v5.1) and transparency. Overall a great package for 99€, got it for very cheap.

Snek#9717 jenny told me 5.2 is more bass biased than original AirPods and 5.1 sound is closer balanced to originals. Can you confirm? In fact I have original pro 2 but for obvious reasons I don’t want wear and tear them too much like going to gym everyday. My idea is to keep them at home to listen quality music but I want the closest sound balance as possible cause I’m used to originals and reinforced bass will bother me. Can you or someone help me with this choice?

I explain. Some people say that because almost every rep is nas biased. Stronger bass is the general preference. But the price for that is the reps kill some frequencies putting then down. Retail don’t. If you pay good attention you can notice any and every frequency there in a perfect balance. That why it seems to be low on bass. It’s a mistake. You can simply use an equalizer and every or any frequency you want to liste will be there. About the reps, if if miss some frequency there is nothing to do about it. In fact the first impression when you wear some reps is a “wow” because the bass is stronger. But for real appreciation of music it’s not the ideal. Retail delivers it all. All you may need.

Taking into consideration the most recent reps (V5.1 and above) a lot of features are present. Basically the “find my”does not work properly. It just register the last position where you used them. And the pods only. The retail case works like the AirTag and beeps to help you find it. Also adaptive sound is not there. But, the most significant thing is the sound and as I always say here the sound quality varies a lot from version to version but I can assure after testing many that the V5.1 is “almost” the same as retail sound quality. It doesn’t mean the others are bad, but different. There are people that prefere the stronger bass of the reps. But in a 1:1 comparison, that’s it: V5.1 passes as retail for many not so focused on small details.
