you should gain invincibility for a very short period after taking damage to stop getting destroyed by a onslaught of damage. you take a heap of damage from multiple sources too quick. once you take damage you should get an invincibility for like 1 second roughly. the only time i die in this game is when i take a heap of damage from multiple sources at once
#Damage gating

This would completely make spirtie feline broken and destory Arsonist
Life Guardian exists, which stops you from getting burst down in a single powerful hit, assuming you've got high enough HP%.
That being said, if the only time you die in this game is getting burst down, adding damage gating to prevent getting burst down would just make it so you never die. At that point, why bother play if you can't lose.
not to be rude, but this post seems like it came from someone who is a bit salty
litterly complaining about his skill issue lol
i mean something more like 0.05 sec would be cool though
As far as I understand, there's a talent that does part of this already, but it would be nice if you only ever drop to 1 hit point from full shield/armor if you take a hit that would one-shot you.
yesterday i was playing around, and there was the scroll that makes you take 2x damage but the overall damage of each hit cannot go over your max HP's 14% i think
that's the closest you can get
Spirit feline is good, but it offers no protection against rapid hits - as intended. Getting one-shot is supposed to be the purview of Airbag, too, but with the draw back that bleed will down you instantly if you're hit with minimum hp
but with the draw back that bleed will down you instantly if you're hit with minimum hp
Untrue. Airbag fully heals your HP and prevents excess damage to HP when your Shield/Armor breaks and it activates.
It is quite literally one-shot protection if you have Shield/Armor, no downside.
Also untrue: bleed bypasses shields to hit HP directly. If you have 1 hp and are hit with bleed-modified hits that doesn't break your shield, what happens?
Does bleed just reduce your HP to 1 and no lower?
No. It downs you then and there.
Does Airbag provide some special immunity to that?
I don't know. I need to test to see when bleed downs you from unbroken shield
Bleed from Bloody Drill bypasses shields/armor. Only players have access to Bloody Drill.
Bleed from enemy enhancements does not. It damages shields/armor first as usual. It's why Paranormality isn't an immediate death sentence.
I would have figured paranormality does something special with HP since it's set to 1, where it forces everything to hit shields first
It does not.
Players simply don't get hit by anything that bypasses shields/armor, besides something like red chest HP sacrifices or Airbag which can never kill you anyway.
Ah yeah. Double checked that a few days ago, it does not in fact hurt your HP through shields. Got one-shot from full HP by an explosion in that run though... in R1. My genius is sometimes staggering, in the anime "falling over from how stupid this guy is" way.
life gaurdian prevents the exact opposite of what this suggestion is for, not agreeing with the suggestion but that's just wrong
If you actually read my post, you'd realize I never said it did.
I said Life Guardian prevents other kinds of being burst down. If the suggestion was also added, all kinds of being burst down would be prevented, completely removing the threat of dying quickly. And if you've played long enough, you'll know that quick deaths are pretty much the only thing that kills you, so you just wouldn't die.
I thought you were misinterpreting the suggestion, no need to get hostile
