hence my point about decreased attack intervals leading to enemies covering each others downtimes and answers

and in the case of the grenades, its not just that there is one instance of a set of grenades that split into three grenades, its that there are also slow homing arrows coming from across the maps, suicide bombers running at you, and swordsmen attempting to melee you at the same time

so what if you know how to dodge one or both of them at the same time if another is going to get you unless you did something that gets you hit anyways

thus, my conclusion earlier about there being more to know and learn than just what you learned in Normal/Elite/Nightmare

being reactive and able to recognise what enemies do what isn't enough, you have to be able to position yourself effectively and know when you can take a hit to get out of being cornered, is my conclusion

as such, it's rather disingeneuous to say all you ned to know is what Normal/Elite/Nightmare taught you about enemy attacks to git gud

*why did I ask earlier if I came to this conclusion now? because it took me doubling down on repeating R1 and some R2 on Nightmare and reincarnation difficulties without all the extra modifiers over and over to get to it

I see you've encountered one of the few challenge events that actually makes you deal with them, instead of breezing through as if it wasn't there.

Others on that list include the one where you do 1 damage to distant enemies, the one which gives all enemies an invincibility shield, and maybe the one where Foundry crit-kills instantly.

Ironically, shotguns.

CritX still goes up even if only 1 pellet crits, and the low base CritX means they get a lot less diminishing returns.

Shrieker is also a good choice because it'll end up with absurdly high crit damage, but you run the risk of losing the bonus more easily when missing thanks to the AoE.

They did change how damage taken increases/decreases worked a while back.

Instead of being multiplicative with each other, they made it additive up to -90% damage taken.

Though in the same update, a bunch of things were changed so you wouldn't hit -90% damage taken with 2-3 things.

Such as Reinforced Eggshell going from +-30% DMG Taken to -+15% DMG Resistance, which became weaker you had below 50% resistance already, but stronger when above.

When going endless, burst damage is hilariously bad.

You hit the damage cap really quick, and then your slow attacks and low hit count doesn't do you any favours.

However the real thing to consider is if you're killing enemies slow enough for them to do anything.

i heard there's a dmg cap for weapon damage in that case isn't that tough for slow heavy hitting weapons like Fire Tower etc?

The damage cap is of course the limit to how hard you can hit

10 mil is normal type weapon damage cap

15 mil is weapon type damage with element that works against certain defense types

7.5 mil is weapon damage that doesnt work well against certain defense types

30 mil is base skill damage cap

22.5 is skill dmg cap with element that doesnt work against certain defense types

45 mil is skill dmg cap with element that works against certain defense types

90 mil is only achieved by pyrodominance (crown prince ) and furious wave on enemies marked with fatal bloom (Tao )

True Damage is not affected by the damage cap at all (Miasma, Arcane Ascension's thunder step (thunderous arcanum), Bloody Drill bleed damage, Ice Blade etc) so then can go unlimited!

the only way to keep up with the enemies with damage cap is all about how hard you can hit, so sadly gameplay become less diverse the further you go into endless (you are fine with boundless as there is no rush and they scale slower)

its effectively a permanent +40 max shield

and a reasonable minimum of 10 regen per second

or take both so more shenanigans

And this is the part where I tell you that, on high difficulties, the hardest part in the game is act 1.

This, conveniently, is the point where you likely won't have Super Charge or Voltaic Aegis.

So all you've got to survive with is the lowest Max HP stat, and the second lowest Max Shield stat (Dog and Red Panda are worse).

So... fragile at the worst possible point in the game. Also you need luck to stop being fragile. Voltaic Aegis 3 doesn't come easy, y'know.

U can also do the grenade build and just build everything grenade related but idk how to play that but the elemental gun build is really easy u just pick up a decent weapon and share Gemini and u win

If u wanna do turtle get tsunami punch with a Argus with spores or crit x Gemini and find a way to crit when u retract aspid to as much dmg as possible ascensions and scroll is just primary cd and weapon dmg

anyone have tips on minmaxing soul essence profit?

i only have to max out my hero talent trees now. i’m done with main talent tree (thank god 🙏) and 3 of the heroes’ trees.

i assume the biggest soul essence source is reincarnation, but i’m hesitant to play more of it because my duo is weak rn and reincarnation offers the spend-for-buff option. right now we’ve been running nightmares, since again, she’s weaker—only low level 50 while i’m like 156 lol

I can help u run some tn I would say play by yourself like bunny and do boundless the one in bizzare dream

U grab a glove and play with sword enthusiast with a macro

Then u can get sword guard 1 for survivability

If u do solo reincarnation with lone wolf it’s pretty easy since the bosses don’t have as much health

U can take this if u play solo for ur lone wolf

But I rec overconsumption bc it’s easier early game bc I’m not doing a long run

U can also do painkiller bc it applies all elemental effect if u apply at least one

And I use this as my starting blessing

U can also reset if u don’t find this in the shop when you spawn in

As long as you don’t leave the starting/ spawn room then you don’t lose if you quit so u can get souls back until you get the right blessing u want

Reincarnation one is also like nightmare it’s not that bad

Just a lil health inc so pitch it to ur duo there’s like no difference in terms of difficulty

But u can get cool things like enhanced scrolls

Hey ever since I've started reincarnation runs, crown princes smoke grenades would apply every elemental effect at once even tho I have no scrolls, no ascensions, and the only spiritual thing I have is painkillers. Is this a bug or did I not read painkillers right?

I cone from the Xbox version where this wasn't a thing happening so I'm confused on what's causing it 😭

For most indiegames that is way more than they ever have

In a few weeks with with the update release the player numbers will spike again and then the calm phase comes about again 4-5 weeks after that

Astrological Magazine and Last Star prefer low magazine capacity, to trigger often. Card Storm is also better when you can rapidly drain the magazine.

Astrological magazine can be utilized by ammo recover like against the flow to trigger it every second and with dmg card storm procs

But i think last star is really good with one shot builds

If you're using Against the Flow to keep triggering Astrological Magazine, the magazine's capacity is so high (or the RoF is so low) that you'd never trigger Last Star, and Card Storm would also slow down in triggers.

Part of Card Storm's effects is to shoot cards when accumulating consumed ammo based on a percentage of the magazine. Larger magazine slows this down.

So assuming you are firing at best 15% of the magazine so Against the Flow keeps doing its job, you're looking at 1.66/1.33/0.66 seconds per trigger.

If you do it with the best weapon Hell, you're looking at a reload time of 0.22 seconds.

For Last Star? Amusingly enough, I've heard people prefer rare astroaspects when it's level 3, because guaranteed crit with legendary does nothing if you crit anyway.
