**Summary:**

Naberius Kalego is enrolled into Babyls to serve as the guard dog. His headache of an uncle was as useful as a drunken dog on the best of days, so the elders had needed to send a fitting replacement. **Summary:**

If you had went up to Naberius Kalego and told him that he would be summoned to the human world by incompetent parents who wanted to sell him their son, Kalego would’ve either flung you across the room with Cerberus, yelled at you for wasting his time, or asked where you had gotten drugs strong enough to induce such thoughts because he wanted some. Life with Opera and the Chairdemon warranted some after all.

it was mentioned at one point outside of the manga/anime that his homeland is a cold place--I believe it was in the mountains...?--so he might be quite cold-resistant naturally.

...huh, apparently bird feet are designed to be fine in the cold. they need very little blood flow... the vascular system deliberately sends cold blood to them, in tiny amounts, to prevent heat loss from the rest of the body. moreover, their arteries sink deeper into their bodies when it's cold, helping prevent heat loss.

and, there's so little muscle and nerve tissue in bird feet that it's very hard for them to get frostbite--simply not enough fluid-filled cells for frostbite to effect. and those that are there, well, the bird's circulation is so extremely quick that the fluids can't freeze. also since there are so few nerves in their feet, they don't feel much there, and probably aren't too perturbed by having their feet out in the cold.

Not that I know. Tho I haven't seen/read the chapter that came out recently and haven't been spoiled on it, so if there's anything there, I wouldn't know.

Lots of fans hc him as having a "dark doctor" sort of role, since it fits him so well.

I believe the only thing briefly mentioned long, long ago--before the idea of the mafia au becoming an actual manga was floated--was that Balam is indeed a part of the dark underbelly of the mafia world.
