#VTS Glitched

of coarse
Can you please try switching back to the regular release version? Then see if it does the glitchy thing and post your logs from that session.

Please navigate to the local files of VTS. This can be done in Steam by clicking on the ⚙️ gear icon then Manage > Browse Local Files (see image below)
If you are on Windows, please navigate to
VTube Studio_Data\StreamingAssets\Logs
If you are on Mac, please navigate to
VTubeStudio.app\Contents\Resources\Data\StreamingAssets\Logs
...and then find the most relevant log (probably the newest one).
Which tracking do you use by the way?
Got you I will say I have to tab out and let it marinate for like a minute for it to start acting up
I use I facialmocap and vbridger
So ifacialmocap to send data to VBridger and then VBridger to VTS?
Yes
Does the face in VBridger do any weird movements?
Ever since the recent update my vbridger face (the purple figure) stops moving when tabbed out but that isn’t the issue
VTS still glitches even which the model app tracking
First thought I had when I saw your video was that it looks like you have two trackers active at the same time. Like, VBridger (through VTS API) and VTS webcam tracking.
oh nah i dont have my webcam even plugged in haha
Ok, that rules that out then
Hmm
Let me know when it does it again
ive been having the issue for the past few days and i guess it stopped glitching out for me when i switched updates or something, the very first clip is from the actual glitch and it happened on stream too :/ im sorry for wasting your time but ill keep the update on and if it happens again ill send you the logs and a video of it all
No worries. If you still have any logs from when it was happening, could you share those?
The logs in the Logs folder have dates on them so maybe you can find one
oh i didnt know that was a thing let me check
this was from my last stream when it glitched out
Alright, interesting. I see a whole bunch of this:

I assume that is VBridger disconnecting and re-connecting constantly.
You're the first one I have seen report this. If you know anyone else, could you tell them to join this thread?
Oof most ppl I know are on twitter and I’m not close with them but the one other person I know is working currently
Also holy moly does your model really have 40 textures
[19:49:56] [ModelLoader] Found Live2D model texture "texture_40.png" in folder "1.02lizmeta4k.4096" but couldn't parse resolution from folder name.Skipping size check for this texture.
Yeah 😂lizmeta
@slender vortex Whatever is going on there, from the logs it looks like some plugin is sending in messed up tracking data. That can potentially also happen when multiple plugins fight for who's in control of the tracking data.

The details of when data is received aren't logged... that would be really helpful here
If we could get someone else with the issue to post their logs, we could compare what they have installed.
Next time it happens, try de-authorizing plugins one by one and see if that stops it. Maybe start by removing everything except VBridger first.
Yeah I’ll try it out if it happens again and I’ll send you the logs!

I'm also experiencing this bug as of the latest up my model lags in VERY specific games in specific locations. The prime example of this is FFXIV. I originally thought the latest patch (from the game, not vts) back in April from the game was what was breaking and lagging my model. Normally I stream FFXIV with Max Graphics but FPS capped to 60 so that my GPU isnt fighting for its life.
As of a few weeks ago I had to turn the games graphics down to "Standard Desktop" mode and reduce the graphics due to my model lagging any time I was in specific locations in game. However after seeing this post and seeing that it was around April I decided to test and see if VTS was the issue. It Was.
After Rolling back to the suggested version in the video (VTS Public_Beta- April 11) , my model lag has stopped completely and I'm able to run the game on full maximum graphics with my usual capped FPS.
To double check, I reinstalled the newest version of VTS then booted the game. The model lag and stuttering was INSTANT and only reduced once graphics were reduced.
I don't know of any specific information that might be needed but I'm willing to provide any information that might help fix this bug since it seems I'm not the only person oddly getting hit by it!
(I also lag horrible after about 20 minutes of playing Deadlock but I have yet to test if this VTS Rollback bug fixes that. Deadlock is still a WIP Game and has massive graphics and optimization issues so I dont currently want to include it in the list of games which currently cause my model to lag)
If it helps in any way, I'll also provide some of my PC Specs.
Processor - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700KF (3.40 GHz)
RAM - 64.0 GB (63.8 GB usable)
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 (12 GB)

On the newest version of VTS if I TAB directly into VTS my model will stop lagging and display correctly
But the second I tab back into the game, I will lag again.
Again, this does not happen if I have my graphics turned down to medium or lower on the new version of VTS.
It doesnt happen AT ALL on the rollback version
(reposted from another thread)
@frosty yoke For logs, do you want logs from the newest version of VTS in which the lag is present?
Yeah
Will do. Ill re-update and get a clean log where the issue is present in my normal set up
But also, this is specifically about the model glitching out like in the video from twitter, not just regular lag.
i can post a video of what occurs. My model HARD freezes
When it happens again, please post a video
Yeah i should be able to replicate it consistently
Interestingly enough, Im not lagging now on max in sections I have lagged out in for forever.
Only two things changed.
-
Im not streaming.
Should it occur while streaming Ill capture it or snip the vod since its been so prevasive the last week. -
RIGHT as I was going to record, I got an OBS update and updated to it.
The issue always shows on stream/in obs but vanishes the second I tab into OBS.
I know its something with it Shredding my GPU cause Ive pulled up my gpu stats any time it happens but for now its wildly stable
The closest I can find right now is from 13 days ago.
This issue was happening non stop in specific areas when we use to stream with 0 lag and hiccups.
After switching to the older version of VTS this stopped completely and was no longer causing me issues
right now after switching back to currnt vts (and hitting the obs update in the process) it is fully behaving and the lag thats haunted me for almost 2 full weeks has stopped.
That being said, Im not sure if it will come back. If it does Ill capture it as best I can and provide logs
Actually just happened again while streaming!
Am I able to pull logs while VTS is running?
