I encountered a similar problem. I'm using a Windows laptop. How did you solve it?
My VTS is not working properly with the camera function. Even after restarting my computer and Steam, the camera indicator light on my laptop stays on for a while and then goes off, and my face doesn't appear in the viewfinder, even though I can use the laptop's camera normally.
Steam verified the integrity of its files and there were no issues.
I did not participate in the beta version.
