Good evening, I always use Since the update the other day, maybe because I'm using AG03Mk2, although the camera recognizes it, tracking doesn't work. When I checked on Twitter, I was asked to report it on Discord, so I will write it here. I'm sorry for my poor English because it's a machine translation.

【⚠️】 Looking into one more problem with this update:

Using certain audio interfaces (for example Steinberg UR12 or Yamaha AG03 Mk2) seems to cause issues when starting webcam tracking after the newest update.

Please make a post in the VTS Discord if you have this issue!! 🙏

This should be fixed in the newest version (1.26.11)

#

If not, please post your logs.

How do I find my VTS logs?

Please navigate to the local files of VTS. This can be done in Steam by clicking on the ⚙️ gear icon then Manage > Browse Local Files (see image below)

If you are on Windows, please navigate to
VTube Studio_Data\StreamingAssets\Logs

If you are on Mac, please navigate to
VTubeStudio.app\Contents\Resources\Data\StreamingAssets\Logs

...and then find the most relevant log (probably the newest one).

@sacred depot I don't think this is related to that issue.

#

@sacred depot Can you please try deactivating your firewall temporarily and see if that fixes the issue?

#

If that doesn't help, please go through the steps listed here:

#

And let me know if any of them helped. giruteApray

#

I've tried other things, but no change

icy dirge
#

Even with the firewall turned completely off?

sacred depot
#

I turned off kaspersky and windows firewall and ran facetracker.exe but ended up with this

sacred depot
#

I checked the operation of the camera body with Windows, but it was reflected without any problems

icy dirge
#

@sacred depot Kaspersky has functionality to block webcam access for apps.

#

Check the Kaspersky settings and make sure that functionality is turned OFF.

sacred depot
#

I tried turning it off and booting, no change

icy dirge
#

Don't start that manually.

#

It'll only work if you start it via VTube Studio.

#

@sacred depot Can you try running the Steam integrity check to make sure all files are properly downloaded?

sacred depot
#

ok, wait a minute

#

One file could not be confirmed, so it will be reacquired

#

Has completed

#

but that doesn't seem right

#

Shall we try reinstalling?

icy dirge
#

Hmm.

#

I'm not sure if that would help.

#

But please give it a try giruteApray

sacred depot
#

ok

icy dirge
#

And also, please try starting VTube Studio as admin if you haven't tried that yet.

sacred depot
#

ok i will try it soon

#

Immediately after reinstalling, I ran it as administrator, but still nothing changed

icy dirge
#

Try using a different USB port for the webcam.

#

And also try re-selecting it here:

sacred depot
#

I can't...

#

I unplugged it once, reinserted it after starting it up, and reselected it, but it hasn't changed

icy dirge
#

Hmm, ok.

#

Can I get your logs one more time?

#

The most recent ones please.

sacred depot
#

ok

icy dirge
#

The fact that there is absolutely no response from the tracker tells me that VTube Studio can't start the tracker executable.

#

This can only happen if some external app blocks VTube Studio from starting other processes (in this case the face tracker .exe)

#

So far, in all cases when this has happened, this was caused by an antivirus app.

sacred depot
#

I see

#

what should I do?

icy dirge
#

Do you only have Kaspersky? Or maybe there is something else?

#

I'm convinced this is Kaspersky somehow blocking VTS from starting a new process.

sacred depot
#

no Kaspersky only

icy dirge
#

Have you tried turning it off entirely? How are you turning it off? Maybe some elements of Kaspersky were still active somehow?

sacred depot
#

I removed the firewall and camera restrictions once, but I haven't touched anything else.
I'm currently restoring only the firewall

#

Specifically, which function is interfering?

icy dirge
#

So something is blocking VTube Studio from starting external processes on your PC.

sacred depot
#

hmm

#

I don't know which one is interfering, so it's difficult to respond...

icy dirge
#

Just to make sure, would it be possible to uninstall Kaspersky entirely? You can install it again afterwards if that didn't help.

sacred depot
#

...ok

#

uninstall now

#

reboot

#

ah...

#

After uninstalling Kaspersky it worked fine

#

I understand the cause, but this is a security problem...

icy dirge
#

Try re-installing Kaspersky.

sacred depot
#

Uninstalled everything related to Kaspersky

#

For your reference

icy dirge
#

You can probably add VTube Studio as exception for Kaspersky.

#

Re-install Kaspersky and add "VTube Studio.exe" and "facetracker.exe" as exceptions. Perhaps that will work.

sacred depot
#

I'm sorry, it seems that the items in the exclusion list were lenient

#

After resetting it, it worked fine

#

Thank you for taking the time to respond

icy dirge
#

Glad we worked that out.

#

@sacred depot So in the end, what exactly did you have to do to make the exclusion work?

#

I would like to add this to the FAQ

sacred depot
#

Setting items for reference

icy dirge
#

Thank you.

sacred depot
#

pleaze wait

#

From above
Do not scan files before opening

Do not monitor application behavior

Do not inherit behavior of parent process (parent application)

#

This is written in Japanese

icy dirge
sacred depot
#

I checked them and saved the settings and now it works normally

icy dirge
#

Got it. Thanks a lot giruteApray

sacred depot
#

I'm the one who should be thanking you

#

What should I do if it's been resolved?

icy dirge
#

Nothing. I will close the thread later.

#

After I add this info to the FAQ giruteApray

sacred depot
#

Understood, thank you again

icy dirge
#

Thank you for your support as well.
