#75% GPU usage without anything running
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Logs of this last test. The GPU was at 75%
I have a 3070 so I do not expect VTube Studio to occupy that much of GPU, it started when I started playing Diablo, at the beginning was fine but then it started taking more and more GPU until it was capping the whole time. Closing Diablo made it go to 75% but it's 3 times higher than what usually it occupies.
I restarted VTube Studio now and it's around 44% which is the correct amount, but I am unsure why they collide with eachother to this point and if there's anything I can do on my side to make it easier for me to stream.
The GPU usage reported by Windows isn't really that meaningful usually. Modern GPUs will automatically reduce their clock speed when there isn't a lot of work to do to optimize power usage.
So depending on what's happening, even a simple game could cause high GPU usage because the GPU is running in a low-power configuration.
This is with Diablo on, I assume?
VTS is running at very low FPS here most likely because Diablo doesn't leave VTS any GPU resources. Might wanna cap the FPS in diablo and/or reduce graphics settings.
@dull latch You can also try pressing the "GPU Priority" button on the first VTS settings tab.
That will make VTS run at higher GPU priority.
It was already with GPU priority and the GPU wasn't using much in general
Diablo's GPU usage I mean.
I think it's something in how they made the game work with the nvidia engine I guess because it's legit the only game giving me issue but it's also a new game.
I will check more and see if I find a solution.
@dull latch Could you try turning off G-Sync?
Turn off NVIDIA G-Sync on that page
It's already not enabled
I'm having the same issue. I thought this GPU usage was due to the Display Lighting feature I just enabled.
diablo iv is giving issues with vts across the board if you check other threads in support
we advice limiting resources of diablo 4 (highly reccomended capping the framerate of both diablo 4 and vts directly from the nvidia panel). Make sure to also keep vts up to date, denchi has been rolling up some hotfixes this last few days trying to improve performance due to some issues, apart from that, sadly it depends more on diablo 4 settings than vts ones
I also encountered the same problem, and after following the prompts, the problem was not resolved. VTS has taken up too much GPU, resulting in a noticeable lag between my game and live streaming.
Check if you're using NDI and/or the Virtual Webcam. Those may create significant GPU overhead.
And please create your own thread and post your logs there.
!logs
Please navigate to the local files of VTS. This can be done in Steam by clicking on the ⚙️ gear icon then Manage > Browse Local Files (see image below)
If you are on Windows, please navigate to
VTube Studio_Data\StreamingAssets\Logs
If you are on Mac, please navigate to
VTubeStudio.app\Contents\Resources\Data\StreamingAssets\Logs
...and then find the most relevant log (probably the newest one).
You've confused me, I'm not sure if I should create a new thread now. According to the second rule, if someone has the same problem, I should not create a new thread. However, you require me to create it now, which one should I follow?
You should use the Discord search function to look for threads that may have solved your problem already.
But don't re-use threads from other people for yourself. That usually just leads to confusion.
It's better to have everyone create a separate thread.
Because often people have similar but slightly different issues.
Thank you for your answer. When my VTS encounters problems again, I will create a new thread and upload logs
I want to know which folder the logs are in? Is it in the StreamingAssets/Logs folder?
Yes.
