Struggling to completely remove VTS model from list. Grey "No Model" slot remains no matter what.

I have imported a lot of "in between step" models to just make sure things were working as expected.
Unfortunately that means I now have a bunch of grey slots left which half baked models that I would like to remove.

Steps I have attempted/ Resources I have checked:

1. The first thing I tried was delete the old models from the Live2DModels folder and restarted VTS.
2. Looked for similar posts on Reddit. There was one like my issue, but no solution.
3. Joined this discord!
4. Searched through the official documentation. I didn't find anything that addressed this issue.
   I did learn about the "Backups" folder from the "Vtube Studio Model File" section and thought that
   I should try deleting some old backups to see if they were being pulled from there.
5. I checked the general support chat and searched various keywords like "delete model" "grey slot" "remove"
   with no luck.

I feel like I took my time to be thorough and review the documentation and past posts. If I missed something that addressed this question, I am very sorry.

What does your "Live2DModels" folder look like currently?

What do you have in there?

You should have one subfolder for each of your models. And each folder should be exactly one Live2D model.

Perhaps when you deleted your old models, their .vtube.json file got left behind?

That would cause this behavior.

That could for example happen when you reuse one folder for your model and keep copying in Live2D model files with different names.

This is what it looks like at the moment. I have deleted some of the old models, but they were separated by folder before.

Also, thank you for getting back to me so quickly! I am trying to think of other information that could be helpful.

Some is cut off, but it is all expression files

And same thing where the texture file is inside the L2_4 folder.

heya! you said you said that you emptied the whole models folder but it didnt work. Can you re do that and show us what you mean with "not wrking" doing that? If you have the models folder empty no model should be loaded... can we start there to properly grasp the issue 🤔

Sorry for my inactivity! Work due dates were pushed forward blehh.

So basically I have deleted model 28 from the Live2DModels folder, but it is still a model I am able to select.

I also saw that Vtube Studio had a backups folder, so I tried deleting it from there with no luck.

I want to remove it because the top of the hair is cut off! I would never use this one and it's just taking up space.

If you search "28" in Live2DModels file explorer search bar, does it show any files?
