I understand that I can use OpenSeeFace tracker independently with Vtube Studio as written here:

https://trello.com/c/kbZWaoKN/26-variable-ip-for-osf-tracker

However the OSF facetracker script doesn't seem to support iPhone connection. Is it for webcam only?
(I know there are apps that let me use iPhone as a webcam, but I guess the benefit of ARKit would be lost this way)

Allow users to set a different IP for the OpenSeeFace tracker so that you could run the tracker on a different PC on the same network.

Result: For now, this can't be done over the UI since this is an experimental feature (completely untested for now). To use the network tracking mode, put a file called "ip.txt" directly into your StreamingA...

OSF is a webcam based tracking library, so no iPhone arkit can not connect to it.

And if you're using iPhone tracking, you wouldn't need OpenSeeFace anyway.

You can just use the normal iPhone connection, which should work fine on Linux as far as I know.

My Steam is installed via Flatpak, maybe this is why my Vtube Studio cannot see my USB-connected iPhone

Thanks to both of you

The USB connection would require an Apple iPhone communication background service running on your PC, which on Windows is bundled with iTunes.

I would be very surprised if that works on Linux.

Actually I installed iTunes on Linux via Wine before, but it failed

If you do give the USB stuff a try and it works, let me know.
