#System Admin roadmap

Linux + DevOps + AWS should give you everything you need
Thanks @gleaming cove .
One could go in that order right?
Yeah, I would recommend Linux first for sure
There's some cross over between the DevOps and AWS roadmaps but still a good order to hit IMO
Many thanks @gleaming cove , I seek to pursue a career in cloud engineering and this has been so helpful
No worries brother, I've worked in sys adm, network engineer, SRE and Cloud Engineering so feel free to ask me anything and I'll help the best I can!
Hey @gleaming cove I'm looking for the same thing.
I've got no experience in sys admin so is it worth do any certifications from RHEL ?
RHEL certs are expensive
So can please suggest me something, how am I supposed to get my first job as sys admin ?
Where do you live?
My path after I left the Army was
1st line customer support > network engineer > sys adm > DevOps > SRE > EM
each skill complimented the next, I went from 1st line to sys adm in one company
It's all about getting in first
I am from India, I worked as transportation specialist in Amazon.
The job is more like logistics management and I don't see myself doing that job for rest of my life so I left.
I am using Linux for past 5 years and I have become somewhat familiar with it. So I have decided to pursue a career in linux administration
It doesn't sound like you would have an issue? I would certainly hire you, I hired a junior SRE in my last company who had far less experience
Thanks @gleaming cove! I've applied to a few companies, but haven't heard anything back yet. I guess I need to sharpen my skills to be more noticeable to recruiters. That's why I was planning to pursue RHEL certifications. But like you said it is expensive and it takes time, so for now I am sticking to the roadmap and try applying few more times.
I feel like from your experience, once you get an interview you will be fine, we just need to get you that interview!
