Severe overheating problems when playing survivor mode.

Was barely able to put my fingers on my screen towards the end of the round. Game started lagging like mad aswell (probably phone throttling)

Phone reached 43.2°, recorded directly after 1 match of survivor, with my phone being off for at elast 30 minuted before i played

Ok sorry, I'm finally done with co-op update. A big optimization push is next on my list ot increase performance and reduce heat

Ok yeah so I'm targeting 60 fps even in medium which is most likely causing this

I will work out best way to let you select fps as some people may still want 60 fps on medium

Actually, I'll drop it to 30 fps for now for medium and see if that improves things then can allow an option

ok I've added an fps selector to the options menu

So you will be able to experiment

this also lets us play at 90 of 120 fps on high end devices

Oh, I think I found another issue as well. I was overriding so even on low it was attempting 60fps

the PC stuff was executing on mobile which set it, my bad, ok next version you can select 30 fps and it should be much better

what would be a high end device for mobile?

i mean, im using a S25 ultra, dont know of many things that would be more powerful

maybe tablets?

oh yeah so you COULD run it at higher fps but it will cause it to overheat

So the question is, why is it so hot at 60fps?

unless it's actually running higher for some reason

probably, but after a while my phone throttles no matter what

uploading the video now, will send you a link in a sec

its 2 minutes long, with checking the temperature at the beginning, middle and end

increased from 36.2 to 37.8 degrees

Ok I've done a heap of optimizations to survivor mode so it should be way better next update

Some of these will help the overall game as well, there's lots of wasted cpu cycles and garbage collection happening so I'll start improving it each udpate

It's a mammoth task so will chip away at it

@warped imp please try selecting 30 fps and let me know if this changes anything on your device for heat

if this doesn't fix the problem there is something else

dont know what you changed, but I havent had any negative experience in the last few days

Ok awesome, I think the fps will have helped, not sure if you have changed it but it defaults to "auto" and is lower in more situations

Also the latest update from 2 days ago has lots of optimizations that will reduce heat for all phones, new and old

ayy, thats awesome, I also tried all the FPS settings, all of them are fine now, not just the 30 FPS setting
