If the enemy jet fired a missile, depending if your missile is infrared, the missile should get confused and target the missile instead of the jet.
Also, you should be able to adjust manually to fire a missile at another missile or at a jet.

This is a cool concept but unfortunately new generation missiles (aim9m and beyond) do not suffer this effect. Same thing with the sun mechanic, it’s just not realistic and adds an unnecessary mechanic/complexity to the game.
the sun mechanic Is actually realistic as fox 2s missiles suffer this thing, even if modern missiles can handle much better the effects from the sun sometimes they miss their target due to the sun
Ms do. Xs dont. as it isnt the same iffred as the M and Ls.
The Ms will get confused by the sun, but for missiles? No. Only missiles like the AIM-9P or B would actually suffer from this issue, as they are far more sensitive seeker heads than something like the 9M, which had a relatively good light threshold filter
