I thought the whole race had interest. There was always someone making progress, felt like the best race of the year to me. The battle for the lead wasn't great so if that's all you want I understand it might not be for everyone.

More happend in first 30laps of wet than dry in sprint. Only change in Sprint was sainz and perez who climbed thru the field and others lose position.

As soon as it became dry in the race people were stuck. Also the gap was building and building.

People were barely fighting in sprint 🤣. In Race you got 2, 3fights, people climbing up, some change on top. Definitely made more changes than sprint lol.

Only ones doing anything in sprint was sainz and perez and that was not shocking they got the most dominant car🤣

What I've taken away from this weekend is Imola is not a good track for exciting battles. RB is way quicker in straight line (which we already knew).

The new regs have helped following but not overtaking. DRS is too strong in some places but is still needed for overtaking.

Both the sprint and race didn't really engage me too much. As for best car/driver talk. To be in the best car you have to be one of the best drivers. No one wins a WC simply by having best car or being the best driver, you have to have both.

In my opinion, Lewis has currently lost his mojo. I hope we see it back as it was horrible seeing what happened to Vettel and I'd hate to see the same happen for him

I'm genuinly worried about all this remove DRS talk. More overtakes = more fun. The epic battles between Max and Lec this season would instead just had been one following if DRS hadn't existed.

I get why people want it removed but it can only be done when overtaking is possible without it. Atm it can't be. At best you could shorten the time it's open for or limit amount of uses in a race. Or have it like ERS and have a limited amount of time per lap you could use it for wherever on track.

As for Lewis, I'm happy others are doing well. Would just rather see him leave F1 fighting for titles than be struggling in the midfield.

Well in Bottas case I think you can say it was mostly the car in Merc. Most drivers in the field could've done the same job or better.

Yeah Max is a bit of a hot head. Been saying for long I think Max would be faster than Lewis in the same car, but Lewis is more stable and less error prone, so would probably still be a tight battle in the same car over a season.

Yeah that's what I mean. He got stuck in a superior Merc all the time. I also remember how he Q'ed well in Williams too but was silent in the races. That's why I like him now since he overtakes alot and makes noise in the races!

That’s what I said - 2 out of 40 that he actually finished were not on podium, I.e. 38/40. 38/40 podiums is pretty impressive

Even if you aren’t his fan - that is nothing to just shrug off like that. He is really really good.

What I don’t like about him though is that he (appears at least) doesn’t develop the car that well. Compared to Schumacher for example.

Yeah but thats the modern days. Also we do not see that much of analysis from drivers anymore then converted into the car and made it better.

Most of the time now, the sim, data, and engineers do the job so.

It'll be interesting to see if he develops this as he goes along. I don't recall Lewis being overly massive on development early on but he seems to have played a big part in it in recent years.

Anyone who says it's just the driver/it's just the car doesn't deserve to be listened to. You have to be one of the best drivers in one of the best cars to win the title. Fact is, you wouldn't be lead driver in the best or one of the best cars if you weren't one of the best drivers.
