🤔👆🏻👍🏻 Seeing the votes, and as much as I like Monaco, as a track, I think it could be one of the venues F1 could perfectly - and totally skip, or go alternatively (?) which I think could be the case in the future, before getting dropped out, because of current F1 car sizes (length + width) just to give it a quick thought... 💭 💭 💭

Since it is a circuit that really can't be taken up-to-date to fit the current racing, as any other proper racing track could do, I think, there's a point there where F1 could really leave behind racing at this venue as part of the evolution of the sport, I think... In that sense, I miss Magny-Course races, for instance, or races at Turkey, perhaps 🤔🤔 Baku I think is a more suited circuit than Monaco, I think, to state an example of current 'Street circuits'... Wonder if Liberty will ever take the decision to leave Monaco out...

As strange as it could be the idea, I understand that sooner or later some tracks just get obsolete to be able to hold a meaningful race for the then available cars to be run on it, and I can accept that Monaco could be in the near future be dropped out, to just race some 'special series' or just out of the regular racing venues... If we think about it, it's not something outrageous to happen, and I can see it happening sooner or later, as part of the natural evolution...

Obviously, to happen it naturally, to be that a short-term fact I don't see it, unless Liberty Media really do push regards it... At some time and point old tracks get out of date... that's what I may see with this Monaco venue... no matter all what's involved around it...

Yep, but I can see that that can really be an issue too... Just by making it simple, and if we were just considering only the racing aspect of the serie, I'd just take all the security evolution we had on the car from that '04 onwards - and that means performance limits too so that they just don't go nuts at every corner or every straight end, and re-think the whole thing so that we don't see what we currently see again...

Once F1 was running races at Brands Hatch 😅😎 to say a quick example, and I see that regards car dimensions, they won't be going back to what we had (wow) 20 years ago... unfortunately 😕

Tbh, if it would be my choice between them, I'd put RIC in that car. He has shown that his weakness is adapting to different cars, and RB has been the car that has suited him perfectly. He even got the VCARB seat based on tests with RB, which further proved this.

Would be cool to try, but best case for me would be someone like Sainz.

@craggy parrot Yeah but the whole point is like I said that RIC is awful at adapting to cars and RB is the car for him. He came to RB as probably not better than Vergne and beat 4x WC Vettel. Proceeded to be the one who made F1 worth watching.

Then he was also quite even with Max (who was very young then tho) and his issues began when he left RB. But when doing tests after he stepped down he put in Max pole times basically in that RB car, which landed him the VCARB seat.

So I don't think I seem to be off in my theory, that he could do better in RB and very possibly be a better 2nd driver than Perez.

This could be true I do see where this idea stems from.. that he just fits well as a plug and play RB 2nd driver.

But there is another theory that his pace loss is from the ground effect cars being very “flat” under braking with the anti dive front suspension (whens the last time he lunged confidently on the brakes?). As well as his driving style just being generally uncomfortable with a stiff car (mclaren in 2021 fit this description)

tbh i wouldnt mind seeing him over perez but tsunoda gives them a real franchise piece rather than a rental on a veteran
