Im talking about the current event. I qualified not long ago (maybe an hour) and the fourth qualifying race (Abu Dhabi) indicated in the pre race that the total lap count was 4 and the tire duration was adjusted to those 4 laps. The race was, of course, 8 laps not 4. And during the race the tire duration adjusted properly.

Suggestion for new players, something I founded out that works very well AND most importantly balances out the abysmal matchmaking is to focus on either drivers or car parts depending on each series (you also might want/need to drop down a series or two if you get the very bad RNG streak and lose a bunch of money against boosted players). In other words, if series have the same car skill needed and 3-4 different driver's skills, put the best parts for that particular skill and use the lowest possible drivers available to you (also don't upgrade them, let them be lvl 1s) -- most likely you are gonna end up using Bearman and Hadjar. On the other hand, if a series emphasizes more on drivers skills, then use drivers with that particular thing as their highest (use the highest quality and level) and put all the worst car parts or if 1 skill is repeated then just boost that one car skill but keep other skills as low as possible (you can even use stock parts for this purpose). This way, you will greatly reduce your total team points and match up with bunch of weaker opponents and because you have that 1 thing that's good on all tracks for that series you will mostly dominate.

Ofc, this game is highly dependent on boosts which are scarce and hard to get at lower series, so if you are a free-2-play player you can either farm and stack up boosts to use them at the time you get enough of them and want to progress or farm coins by repeatedly doing lower series than your current peak is. You can still play and have fun winning along side of slowly collecting boosts and progressing thru the passes which would then lead you to eventually getting enough boosts so you can progress further. 🙂

PU indeed has always been weird, but ultimately is because of the mechanic of what the PU stat actually does. There's not anything really wrong with the implementation as it only impacts your charge and discharge rate. Even though your maximizing PU to get the maximum bonus from track stat, your still lacking in overall speed/cornering which is ultimately what dictates your pace. PU impact on speed and/or pace is indirect. PU is one of those setups that requires a little more adjustment based on your play style as well as what the overall ai stats are. Your 114 speed is below the worst ai car stat so you may find yourself struggling to keep up depending on other factors like boost and where you qualify. So your setup is attempting to balance staying red as long as possible since we know red speed also gives a boost to stats, but because your stats are lower than ai, you might find yourself losing the attack and defend attempts. Your rival whilst lower on PU so lower track stat bonus, raw pace is actually similar to top ai car so will have more success on yellow speed depending on other factors. I'm only looking at car here and not really looking at the driver stats; but just as PU is weird, if this was a bot, bots also can behave weird

Series 9 I just focused on cornering, forget about Monza cornering and defending are the important stats, helped me beat all my opponents. I recommend using the gyro suspension. If you don't have special driver use Bortoleto and Verstappen

True true , just saying what I did since I started , sprints free boosts , regular duels no boosts ( with some sneaky webber setups as well ) , built a nice stock of boosts on pitpass only like that

It’s a trap for f2p guys to have to use a boost every time for a win when it’s a) not sustainable in the long run and b) fresh players won’t have the stock

The hardest thing, (and i know we shouldnt look at TS) but players will see a 100+ matchup lets say, and its instantly i have to use a boost, its a shame we cant see the setup prior to the race

with series 12 last month or so, F2P is a struggle because it wipes out all cornering boosts, and when you run on a cornering seried most are running cornering

hutch 100% know why they do track rotation... to burn different pots of our boosts every 2 weeks

defense and cornering - to then cornering, 4 weeks of cornering boots CYA
