It works basically the same as DRS. You have to be within 1s and then manually push a button (or automatically?) to get extra battery power once over 290kph.

As for a game, it works the same as DRS. We press a button and get a speed+overtaking increase.

DRS in-game don’t work like IRL, so I don’t expect Overtake too either. Copy pasta what we have just makes sense.

2 weeks ago we had the exact same promotion - for Silverstone McLaren. Same expiration date as the Japan Red Bull.

People who bought the Silverstone McLaren will have the exact same experience as you have.

However - doing something ( in this case falling for a purchase here) - without fully knowing why you are getting into - is equally on you as it is on their team.

I’m not cheerleading on anyone - I am commenting on knowing the whole picture here and without being annoyed as you are (like I would be also since I’ve waited for the white Red Bull since turkey several seasons ago).

If I was in your shoes and I miss multiple warnings about something - I would be annoyed mostly at myself

The only tip I have for lower series is not to rush it. In fact, once you've been in the series for a while, try not to use boosts and see if you can win. imo boosts tend to paper over setup weaknesses, and I save boosts for coin surges/sprints (if I can do it in 4 races in S12 I'll try)

You probably have to boost at the start. I can't remember how lower series works, but at upper series, you might need to based on the track rotations. Imagine playing S12 against someone who already has the s12 epic parts. Guaranteed loss.
Even if you have all your S11 parts up to scratch it's still not gonna help

Yeah I’m pretty much at a point where I either don’t boost or use self control on lowest qualifier in s11 now. So I’m thinking of moving to s12 alongside a favourable track rotation pretty soon

If you're hitting the PU track rotation it's the best. Personal experience is that you tend to be able to win on PU rotations even with weaker setup due to how PU is to some extent dependent on the speed/cornering too
It also rewards active management of the power unit charge bar. I capitalised on it with the coin surges from objective stores to get like 6b in gold

Well they do. A few track rotations prioritise driver stats (defending/overtaking/Race Start)... And honestly putting in a strong driver in those stats are very underrated. In fact, after the next rotation, the remaining ones are all driver stat based.

For reference, the remaining S12 rotations are: Power Unit (11 March), Race Start (25 March), Tyre Management (8 April), Overtaking (22 April)

Yes, and get to grips with the game as it’s not as easy as it looks. Plus when the season score tracker comes next week you will know what you can expect to start with in the new season.

Two tips though for the game

1. don’t fixate on team score as a number , as it’s extremely misleading

2. always keep a safety net of 10 entry fees for your highest unlocked series so you can comfortably race. Don’t upgrade anything you won’t need or you won’t use.

Just take it slow and you will do better next year 😉 good luck!
