Common sense isn't equal to what we choose to spend on, I have the common sense to know my mortgage, my bills and family will always take priority for how I spend my money, however, if I have £20 free to spend on something, and I do so on the game, doesn't mean I don't have common sense.

Take smoking, it kills, it even says on the packet, yet people spend £20 a day on those.

Alcohol, can cause lots of health issues, but people spend £20 on a bottle of spirit.

Who out of those three examples is right and who is wrong it's not for us to say, we all choose to spend how we want and how we believe fits in with our life and interests.

And spending £20 on this game won't stop me buying F1 tickets or a holiday 😄

I get what you are saying and where you are coming from. I just felt the suggestion that the majority who are none/low spenders have more common sense than those that do spend was a little harsh.

I see comments of people judging those that spend, but I don't see spenders judging the non-spenders as such.

I personally buy bucks deals so that I can use the bucks to unlock crates, I still like to grind for the assets and build slow, I don't spend massive and I don't spend to max out. I occasionally have a venture into the 415 GP crate if I'm close to the next level for a featured asset, but like you, I like the 12 month season to grow the assets from duel crates and GP rewards. I race so much that buying some bucks allows me to unlock the gold, plat legends that I track, rather than missing out.

Each to their own, as long as people are happy that's all that matters 👍🏻

I'm actually trying to figure out is it because you started at Junior and stayed there longer? I started with challenger and stayed there for a while, but went to Contender when I had unlocked S10. Then Champion when I had most S12 assets. Should I have waited longer? I just saw those S12 GP crates per race and wanted to get those

You shouldn’t have entered champion if you just barely had s12 assets. A good time would have been around 4-5 epics there.

GP crates work same way as other crates - a s12 crate can have everything from series 1 to series 12 inside, just like the champion crate. Contender is s1 to s9, challenger 1-6 and junuor 1-3

I've dropped back to contender for now, which is where I think I'll stay until I feel ready (with the correct boosts etc) to go up to Champion again, maybe with PU tracks, where I can score higher

I know some people referenced sandbagging - does that perhaps in this scenario mean not running boosts when you're in earlier series so that you're not performing to like your 'maximum potential'? Granted you do lose out on GP results in the interim, but the payoff of a S12 champions 1st place is valuable enough?

I generally run the strongest boosts I have for GP events, but I'm wondering whether that's led to me overperforming and ending up in stronger groups... This round for contender GP I scored 396 points (364+32 sponsor task) and finished 39th in Finals

The thing is the finalist prizes for Champion vs Contender is really stark - if I'm not wrong a 100th place finish in Champion gives you more assets than finishing as high as 25th in contender. And I could do with having more assets (even to trigger asset trading early tbh)... So I also am not sure about the tradeoff I want to make. tbh once I nail a champions first I might just be inclined to stay there long term already due to the asset prizes

I still don't like that they set the highest GP finishing position the way they did. Basically if you didn't finish Top 3 in Champs or win a Contender level, you can't get to 95%...
