If their TS advantage comes from mainly speed or cornering - it would be wasted. If you are dominating on tyre and power unit - you will have the advantage even if you are lower on TS

If I may give you a tip, prioritize your boost selection for the driver stat. You are using a speed boost on a speed track. That is not bad per se, but your rival is using a (premium) race start boost on a race start track, which will give you a much stronger boost to overal performance

So on Melbourne I would prefer an instinct or ballast boost, even if it doesnt boost the speed stat for your car

I had a similar outcome in Monza too, though the stat point difference was not that big. In my case I see that it was the case of having total stat points low (my cornering was low, and was some pts behind at qly pts too) that the difference in speed stats (around 15 pts) couldn't overcome the difference despite being higher at track stat. I was passed coming out from Parabollica, which I thought it could be somewhat logic, and fair. But didn't know where the car track stat effect was gone...

Yeah, the way I was losing that race I was expecting to see that had way more speed or better leveled drivers than mine. Imagine my confusion when I saw in debrief he had same drivers and levels, 100ish speed and almost 160 cornering, while I had 130ish both speed and cornering. I had 115 quali too while he started waaayyy behind. It was weird how he caught up to me, overtook and stay well ahead by the end of the race.

Hey Guy's, what is your experience? Is it like in the last season that it needs to be concentrate only the recommended setup and build the car only for that one or was something changed? Really interesting because my teammate says that he use speed setup in S9 and it works very well.

My findings so far are the following:

Driver track stats are still king. Car track stats are still important, but have less impact on race performance

Same goes for boosts, I always prioritize the driver track stats when selecting boosts. Even if said boost does not have the car track stat. Obviously its best to have both

Qualifying seems very powerful, because if you get a good start but qualified in P20, you will get stuck behind slow starting AI cars. The further upfield you qualify, the better your start will be

Tbh I have found PU and Tyre Management stats to not matter alot

Like they barely have any effects on the race

You will probably get banned for this but follow these steps if you are on android … download apk. Decompile apk. Find the function which displays km/h change graphics to mph . Also patch the function which has kmph value and multiply by .621. Recompile the apk install and play

If you're new to the game, i suggest you to just move up a series when you can. It's a good experience to learn new tracks, new components, strategies etc. At least for me personally, moving up a series feels more rewarding than just staying at a lower series just to get P1 (which is useless). There's just much more benefit of moving up, and you can always come back to a lower series if you want.

Yeah I understand if you want to stay at a series longer for sprints. I was thinking of doing that myself. But staying in Series 3 just for sprints seems counter productive.
