#low battery in Rover

hello, it's been several times that I have been fooled by an empty battery on the rover.
Yes, I know, I should have reloaded ^^ but, in my momentum: I forgot.

Would it be possible to set up in the rover, an alert system: voice messages and an orange/red flashing on the dashboard?

Option idea for the rover: blueprint to make a solar panel that would be mounted on the arm or on the roof of the rover, to recharge it during the phases when it is not used

About alert, i agree that would be nice, but not necessary as we can see on dashboard power level.

About blueprint...solar panel on roof etc.... That's is basically unlimited power for Rover.. All fun will gone.

When not used Rover at base you can put on charge. Or if you far away from base and low battery during day time, just build solar panels and connect to Transformer and then to Rover to charge in no time will charge. Leave some materials in Rover for emergency solar panels build.

PV on roof would be non tracking and peak production of small SP
IIRC small SP connected to rover will charge about 10% during day, so PV on roof would only give about 1%.
So PV on rover would not be so much OP and would be more of emergency / trickle charge.

Bit off topic and depended on roadmap, but what about modular rover?:

  • crane or additional crew compartment (APC style)
  • rooftop rack (for more storage), rooftop PV (for field charging) or rooftop tank (for water/methane/etc)
  • battery / o2 storage extension (i saw there are on dashboard, and saw there are O2 green tanks on right side of rover but not sure if this is implemented)
(if there is better place for suggestions, please direct me to it and I will be happy to spill my thoughts there)

battery / O2 extensions are in already, for extra storage there are specific trailers (container, specific tanks or a 3in1 tank)
nothing for on site recharging but plenty of people have spare resources to build a solar panel on site when going to grind some base, recharges the rover while you're busy

DG: So materials for solar panels (pipes, solar panels, electronics, aluminium panel, electric motor) would have to take up space in inventory and if gone for x sols, more space for more solar panels materials. Only 50 slots of space in rover inventory

It could be a small size emergency charge solar panel, with a speed limit of 5 or 10km/h or charge limit of 10% for the battery

I hope when you drive your car you pay attention to the gauges on your dash board...

I would really like to have some "easy-to-place" solarpanels which I just collect after charging the rover instead of grinding them down.
But here is my solution:
I just build some charging stations with a well, a sabatier, a living capsule, a workshop, tanks (for oxygen and water) and some medium solarpanels and lots of akkupacks. A food processing unit, 4 plant shelfes and 2 incubators completes the charging station base.
Normally I put the well opposite of the base and have one set of tanks to refill suit and rover and a second set of tanks for the base.
