what IDE are you using?
IDE?
how are you editing the code?
I just opened it with microsoft and now i want to reverse that
haven't edited any code it just keeps opening with microsoft
wdym with microsoft
right click and go into properties and change the default program
to eclipse or intellij or vscode or whatever IDE you're using
or notepad if for whatever reason you don't have one installed yet
also, what build system/mod loader are you using to create mods?
if you're using forge, I highly recommend trying fabric instead. you should be using gradle, which won't require you to be running things by clicking on them in explorer
Ty, I'll try it in a bit
u should prob learn the basics before minecraft modding
I made this exact mistake and starting up was complete hell
and I was modding on 1.8.9, which has virtually no documentation as well, was not a fun time
any typical online code class or multi-step guide
modding a game is not smth for someone new to programming
at that level ur still making random number guessing games in the console
oh not code?
Just from reading his messages
Just Google a tutorial on how to set it up in curseforge @manic charm
I know but my computer is like Schroedinger's box

me when I try using forge
instead I recommend prism launcher. it has a built in downloader for mods & streamlines the process a ton, with support for modrinth & curseforge
