I'm playing quietly and then it kicks out of the game and when I try to open it, the crappy message appears that I have to contact customer service.

Okay, you have rebooted your phone?
If rebooting phone doesn't help, please reinstall game. I hope you have your character bind first, so you can retrieve your progress.
