@brave radish we will strive to do better on responding to messages in game suggestion channel.
Thank you @wet shell
where do developers or moderators reacts to game suggestion usually ?
There is only the game suggestions, bugs, and discord suggestions. From my understanding 30 upvotes gets reported to higher up. We react to same posts as everyone else.
Would you have a suggestion that may make it better?
👀

Yes, can you add a roadmap with an expected date for each suggestion that will be added to the game?
Where and when it was mentioned a suggestion needs 30 upvotes to be reported?
Maybe reported wasn't the right word but here is the thing about 30 upvotes
thank you, i didn't read the top war bot-message but the one pined
Thing is: players don't get any feedback whether it was even noticed by the devs or not. The claim that everything is being read doesn't work when there is no interaction at all.
This topic is under discussion, and we are working on a better solution.Hopefully we will have a solution that will make the community more heard. Please be patient as we work this out. We thank everyone for their input and suggestions and are always looking for ways to improve. If you have more suggestions, we are always open to hearing them.
I can say that Liz does looks through the suggestion frequently.
Is Liz a developer ?
TopWar developers are not great to
- provide feedback (please accept my diplomatic euphemism)
- communicate roadmaps (developments, events, more sales, ergonomy fixes, gameplay evolutions ?)
- or respect planning and deadlines (we miss you EL 😭, UD is the unwanted event discriminating US/Europe without any matchmaking that is killing many accounts)
So the easier way would probably to start with little steps : suggestion status, avoid deadlines.
Create a developers suggestion sorting by target category :
- yes (accepted as is)
- accepted - in backlog but needs to be reworked (needs evolutions/changes/adaptations)
- no (refused, a little message would be nice)
- in analysis (undecided)
You could just add reactions to original suggestion, copy-paste the suggestion or a quick descriptive title and a link to the source in a read-only channel to keep it sorted clean, or create messages, whatever ease your job.
It is important to remind to community that mistakes and changes must be allowed, because you are trying.
Nothing is perfect on first try, specially on live, public prototyping
With feedback given and community listened, you could probably expect to raise the 30 votes limit to get a more clear overview and avoid votes raids. Maybe even clean the suggestions > 1 month not having reached that limit.
If a suggestion has already been made, you (or players) could point at it in thread (stackoverflow style) : "already discussed here + link to message" (maybe lock thread)
In a second step, having a more clear view on the developers focus would be nice. Again, nothing too fancy because they are not used to communicate (or have a plan ?). As developers, they are probably working with a methodology but we never heard of it (Scrum ? Kanban ? Xtreme Programming ? Something else ?) and are subject to random events (financial wishes, legal evolutions, technical profile picture troubles...)
This could be a roadmap time, deadline oriented, as general as
February:
- 60% collaboration number 34 (preparation)
- 30% bug fixes (including AI validated profile pictures) and ergonomy
- 10% suggestions features implementation (messaging friends in other server)
March :
- 30% next hero development (navy)
- 20% suggestions features implementation (displaying in-game transfer opening/close dates)
- 20% bug fixes and ergonomy rework (notifications)
- 20% new gameplay mecanism (part 1, content is a suprise :))
- 10% CP rework
April:
- 50% collaboration number 34 (release part 1)
- 20% new gameplay mecanism (part 2, enigma beasts equipment yay lol :))
- 20% bug fixes
- 10% CP rework
....
Or a list of current tasks, priority oriented
0~ end of world profile picture fix
1~ collaboration number 34
2~ CP rework and matchmaking
3~ API for developers to enrich the game with custom websites/tools (item translations, server activity status, events ranking list)
4~ open surveys to more languages
5~ dimensional mines rework
...
My personal favorite goes to first system, but we have sort of a deadline context and not sure it is best suited for devs
Keep in mind that it is hard to make suggestions considering topwar developers are not a well know species. Having a bit of knowledge on their activity would help. I don't know if they are 5 or 50.
Also keep in mind that i am 1 player only, and feel great that you @wet shell , @light violet and @supple adder came to enrich each other by bringing suggestions and feedback.
A suggestion about community is obviously a community suggestion 🙂
So the mod team has been brainstorming ideas to better make the community's suggestions heard. We have come up with the following: Smods (lead by ragnar) will review game suggestions and forward those with the most upvotes to a channel with developers. After forwarding a suggestion, the Smod should reply to the suggestion thread and let the suggester know it has been forwarded.
As for a road map/ deadlines I'm not sure I'm at liberty to make such a call but the suggestion has been brought forward.
Thanks for the update. Imo it's sad though that you mods need to do such things which are absolutely something that people on the Rivergames payroll should be doing.. it kinda means that it hasn't been brought forward to the devs in a decent way before and their claim to reading everything was pretty empty 😞
I know someone on the RiverGames team was already checking suggestions, grabbing the popular ones, and sending them to the right people. Just no one knew which suggestions were noted, leading to multiple people requesting the same thing constantly, even if it had already been noted. I think saying it's been forwarded or noted is a good next step in making everyone feel more heard and possibly limit the number of repeat posts.

Oh yes, there will still be plenty of repeat post. We all know that the average topwar player doesn't read what other people suggested
Even a small step in the good direction is welcomed
