I think most people celebrate more on the 25th than the 24th if you are going to delay it then it should be the 27th (however that's when the actual ED starts) OR earlier the 23rd

This would be really nice if they could pause ED after 3rd round end and start 4th round on 27th December. Real ED is not starting right away. There is now timer to next loot quest start, it will start next Monday. Also there is 2 week timer to next capital contest so those indicate there will be at least 2 weeks break before real ED.

yea i expect some server merge before the real starts to so 2 weeks make sense to me
