Hi, I'm not sure you understand how this works.

If you break the rules you are given a warning. Repeat the behaviour and be given a second warning. Repeat it again, be muted. [In-Game does not have the second warning stage]

If a player requests a self mute, we ask for confirmation. If they confirm the mute is granted. This works both In-Game and on discord and has been this way for as long as I have been a moderator. (3 years)

There is no abuse of power as it was a self request. The mute can be ended by the player asking for it to be ended, however In-Game this is not possible and the mute will not be removed.

On discord it could be removed but the player is typically informed that the next time they request a mute, it stays and will not be removed for any reason.
