I don't know what it will be, but probably just some kind of upgrade, similar to lvl 80 -> 100.

Gold shards, and most likely skill shards will still stay in use.

I also guess that there will be new heroes, maybe also in monthly rhythm as gold shards and skill shards are big source of income on new servers. And new servers do need new heroes, especially as they now get older and mostly useless heroes.

But, this new system needs at least gold shards and experience books, so I assume skill shards too (old mechanics stay, new are added on top is my guess, and I must say, my hope):
