Buffs only really help when you also level up the platforms.
Epic (purple) beasts are better until then.
You'll get better results with a purple beast that gives you 4.5% DMG increase and some HP/ATK over putting a crappy gold beast just to activate a buff that gives you 0.3% increase on the DEF Tech.
Details in the beasts matter even more than Titan Gear.

basically, jet5-hiccup5 is really good, but ex5>7 upgrade

hiccup is only all final damage x1.36

jett 5>7 is final hpx1.08, jett damage x1.81, hiccup final damage x1.7.

and since most damage from this two hero, thats a lot

it also powers up ignite runes by a lot X_X

the worst ex5>7 upgrades are sara/quille

while the good ones are petra (newest army hero), jett.
