My guess is Maple is a bridge hero. She doesn't replace Crimson for those with Layla. However, if Layla gets replaced in the future with an indestructible hero that doesn't also provide a debuff, then Maple/Strom likely becomes the combo of choice. TW maybe setting up a mechanic change to focus on heavy armor type stuff vs debuff.

but the current meta, Barbie is already a choice and not a must have in the Air meta.

Striker is universal, you lose the crimson layla synergy from the weaken status but IMO is not relevant

Striker 5 exclusive gives you 2 round indestructible which is your window to compete against the enemy

However Nemo -> stromoy update is huge for mid class due to Stromoy buffs

however

you have Striker if you do replace, so you get indestructible

so if you add Stromoy you get Heavy armor damage increase buff from her + Yuu shield adding more Stromoy damage increase to units

the indestructible boost wears out after round 1 so you lose damage

I think overall I'd striker first then Stromoy

Asuka Striker can flexible in between so both will help your other styles if you do replace them later on navy

is more expensive finding that % in decors and sources than exclusive 5

however do keep in mind when you lose heavy armor or indestructible on unit slots, those hit less
