Work on component , equipment . Skills march size , damage increase and decrease . That's it . Don't upgrade free heroes with gold shards . After you have a march ready with 120 level heroes you work on perks

Lol, it's a very involved game. Many long term players who like to compete understand that some spending is required to be on top of rankings. While spending is a great way to advance & get specialized decor items, you can play for free but you have to understand that players who spend to enhance their commanders will always have the edge (like most games where spending is an option).

Best advice is to get into an active alliance & participate. Complete Radar, Empire Relics, and as many events as you have time and they are available. Start by having your focus on a main branch, but don't neglect a secondary &/or tertiary branch as they will be important later on.
Many of the events have tutorials or information available & it's always great to join alliance, server, & information discords for a larger community to help with questions.

Cos f2p mostly stuck at low levels (95-96) while whales can simply use speed ups/kuruzo to speed up troops or simply use all vals, the only possible player scope that will complaint is the middle players who pushed themselves and just recently leveled up then merged all their troops and voila, they instantly half empty I guess, hence the lack of complaints on missing 500 free +0 units

Just like last TC legends have much lesser complaints compared to the first TC legends because they put the failsafe by letting people with at least 50M+ CP joins the game mode regardless the CP rank in the server. I mean, in reality if it's hilarious as heck when a server have many many players in and only 5 people can play it. Last TC legends lets at least active servers have more people joining the event

Controversial take: before the last TC legends, people complaints weak people do nothing than farming despite if an alliance can do spam farming it just means they have more members to enable them to have a gathering team, in TC legends. All teams are decided with equal numbers of members so there's no reason about member counts

It just a fact when you cannot fight against anyone in your TC legends' map, there's almost nothing you can do except doing small things like gathering or sniping for bounty score if still have troops

War ethos is interesting stuffs tho, it encourage people to get out from safe zone if they wanted to increase war ethos
