Didn't read anywhere they will not release new hero's. They just have new skills and improved skills. So it's a reset more or less.

All the old heros will become useless. But lucky enough everything is still counted in your total CP.

I tried the new hero system- it's awesome. You just lose 9 shards but you keep the old hero. Perks are restored, EXp is redeemed (you can level up the new hero at one), you get the corresponding skill shard on the old level and everything else is in the inventory.
