Sorry, your math is not correct for most servers. You get 160 gems for doing daily tasks, and we can say that on most (dead) servers, it's very easy for active people to be at least in top 100 (on my server I was even checking number of active people). So, it's 210 gems per day, not 180. It's 30x365, or roughly 10k gems more for arms race.

In AD, I do struggle to get 180 gems, plus I do get 100 on the end of the week. I would count it as 150 gems per 6 days week for myself. In my calculation, it's about 51-52k gems per year for AD.

So, difference is between 75k gems for arms race vs 52k gems for AD, or about 20-22k gems less (for me). I'm very active player, but I'm not a big spender (VIP 9 on a 3 year old account). I'm sure that whales can get much more points (thus gems too) on account on spending big.

BTW, just to mention, I did made gold blueprint (army armor), and I was only n9. I don't know what others do to get their points, but:

a) for making gold blueprint I was not close to 1.2M points
b) I got only 300 gems for something that happens every 3 and a half months.

It is not only units. The problem is also teleports and shields. SvS is 2 times a month. But instead of these 2 hours, there is now 4 x 24 = 96 hours you might need to shield. And if you want to play, you need even more shields and teleports.

Well, during arms' race KE, you were dealing with people from your server. If it's a good server and not the one in chaos, you could deal with few people.

Now in AD KE, it's people from other servers that burn people on your server. How to deal with it? I mean, I know it would be possible, we had one server where we reached agreements on not attacking on resources and not attacking on veins, but for most people, it's just chaos and of course, the strongest few love it, the rest just hates it, and soon strongest cry that everyone is under a shield.

FYI akatora released waaaaay before EL's store was a thing. At best some people fought for Hyperion, but you're 6 months too early.
Also, the only times we looked towards EL twice a year, they then clarified they meant in different server groups

So far it's only confirmed the event is on paused under UD-practise that ends december 27. But after that it's probably both EL and "real" UD so my guess is that it will start in spring again 🤷🏼‍♂️ Maybe wait to 27 and see what else they tell us.

Allience Duel is gem worth, and since it replaced Arms Race its atleast some daily stuff to do (until they changed so you can do all daily stuff on one day instead of certain days).
But also rewards for both daily and weekly rankings are good, not only beast boxes but there was also catalysts to get from rankings if I remember correct

Cuz bigger servers get eachother for AD and SVS was happening at the same time. The players would jump over during the 24 hour KE and burn players as they prepare for SVS

So yeah it was more than just issues with players not shielding

Alliance Duel prizes is garbage. You waste a lot of resources for horrible prizes. If it comes back, it would need a remake in the prizes. For new servers it's not bad.
I'm also not going to talk about the lack of organization when there was SvS and the battle day in Duel at the same time haha

Alliance duel is good in the sense that you get some rewards that are 20% okay, yes the SVS and Alliance Duel war is bad. They could have made sure Alliance duels war ends Saturday -2., this way it doesn't collide with SVS

We were just on a "reasonably high" 3xxx Server (something like 37xx) during Loot...and they had Alliance Duel going on. There were those Red Mines that you go to for points during the KE Day.
