The reward stage is just a period of time where people can go through the menu and collect rewards. So some rewards are gifted through your mail, and others you claim manually in the TA menu. During the reward stage you can claim anything in the TA menu, but not the rewards you got via mail. So typically the goal here is to rotate players from your other alliances into your main alliance during award stage so that they can collect all the past manual collection rewards.

So you get taken out of the game map and put in a special event map with 4 other servers. You spend the next 3 weeks trapped here, but there's only like 4 days of actual action in that 3 weeks, it's a real boring event. Eventually you'll get to fight other servers got territory for points. There's a few mini events like Ark and Dusty Trucks. But basically it's an event designed to show appreciation to those who spend the most and really just secure the fact f2p players ain't valuable in the company's eyes
