They also made clone consoles like the RetroBit Trio (A NES, SNES and Megadrive in 1) and they're currently listing those as "Coming Soon" so who knows if they'll bring this back too

At the point it came out when you didn't have Gamecube HDMI adaptors and there wasn't the homebrew version of the software for the GBA adaptor I'd say it was pretty great option and I would have very much recommended it.
But yeah, there is better options now and there is better ways they could do it

It's hard to not think Aria of Sorrows is the better game overall (including the story) but with it's simpler combat and focus on the whip instead of all these others weapons i'd argue that Harmony of Dissonance is the better example of a Castlevania game. The double map where the different look different too is a nice touch

Definitely Super Mario Advance/SMB2. I actually imported my original GBA before it launched in North America. I imported it with SMB2 and F-Zero Maximum Velocity.
Then I got Castlevania Circle of the Moon early as well, because the stores around here started selling some of the third-party games like a week before launch, and since I already had a GBA from Japan, I played that game a little early.
So I already finished the english version of that game before launch.

Unless you're doing endless your goal is "get to the bottom as fast as possible", it's very much a speed game
Ideally you also want to go for the air tanks, as IIRC there's a bonus for getting 100% of them
If the quickest way to get an air tank is drilling through one X block, then you basically dig through it, take the penalty to get the tank and keep moving. If you can get it safely by e.g. setting off a chain and it doesn't cost you much more time that can be more ideal (especially if you're in need of air)

MMBN4 got all the popular bad rep, but nobody remembers the horrors of 1 because I have personally witnessed two people who found their brains had repressed the horrible moments in the latter two dungeons.
I was watching a friend play it, the music started in the second to last dungeon and he about had a meltdown.

Oof. Sorry but you lose this one. Fire emblem (the blazing blade) is not bad but one of the weaker fire emblem. If this was the Japanese version or fire emblem binding blade or even sacred stones this would be harder, but the English version is just too butchered.

I think that's pretty fair. It's far more balanced, the Oracle games intentionally play in different styles and have diferent things going for them
In general, those 3 games and that whole engine and just things like letting you map any 2 items to the 2 buttons to make your own combinations is just such a basic thing that somehow seams to have been missed by other games

Yes. Golden sun (in Japanese it got the subtitle "the broken seal") is the first half and lost age is the second part. You can also transfer your save via link cable or password.

Tip: There is a codebreaker (ect) code you can use that will let you use the corrupt upgrades as soon as you collect them and it lets you change the order you do stuff and generally is pretty interesting for replays if you want to mix it up a bit

If you don't have a GBA or just want an easy way to play it on a TV or bigger screen without messing about it's not bad
I don't hate the new graphics, I think it lacks a bit of the GBA charm but some people might prefer them
The biggest issue is just that everything is slower, things move slower, the cut scenes take longer, there is short but noticeable loading times constantly
I don't think it's offensively bad but the GBA version is just more enjoyable

I have an adapter to copy roms off of cartridges and you can also flash cartridges that allow for that. You can also transfer saves from and to mister with that. I know that's not as clean as plugging in a cartridge in the mister but it's technically possible right now.

There is a homebrew app for the DS that can do that too and is pretty easy. I've used that to backup all my cart saves just in case

The card system had a lot of flexibility and was interesting but needed grinding (or cheating) where as HoDs system was far simpler

Yeah the card system is a bit rough, especially when you play without a guide and don't know that this specific enemy can drop a card. The advance collection actually indicates it when you defeat an enemy that can drop a card.

Circle of the Moon is one of my least favorite Castlevania games. I think only Vampire Killer on MSX and arcade Haunted Castle are the only two I like less.
The moment to moment gameplay just feels so bad in that game.

It's the best of the metroidvania style games in the series! Not as good as Super Castlevania IV and Rondo though.

I think it's the most NES like movement and you spend a lot of time committed to a movement or being knocked around by something rather then actually in control and that doesn't feel good

Euro-platformers is what I'd call an "acquired taste": most are trash but there's some great fun to be had with some of them, like James Pond 2. Clearly not a great game, but pretty fun to have in 1992 on the Amiga or the MegaDrive.

Definitely play it. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the best racing game ever made. I love F-Zero X on the N64, but GX surpasses it in every way.

I beat all the GP cups on master difficulty and the story mode on the hardest difficulty only 5 days after the game launched! ...but yeah, I won't sugar coat it, it really is extremely difficult.

Honestly, I'd give you the win on this one! I love Lunar, but this is possibly the worst way to play the original game. It's insanely dumbed down compared to other versions of the game. It does have some nice pixel art though.

It was interesting to see another take having slight changes, and not gonna lie, cheesing by reloading had its charm.
Before the recent port it was one of the speedy versions due to emu/core speedups, which is always nice for replays at least.
