The 3do art is beautiful for out of this world.

real rapids
#

I actually like the 3DO version myself! I owned it back in the day, and loved the look of it.

distant grove
#

Should have created a CDi version, but with hyper realistic digitized graphics

weak hound
#

The is the perfect analogy for the 3DO or CDi

#

It probably has value for comedic value or cultural value or at minimum for some subset of people even if it’s objectively a failure

#

And, well, fugly

distant grove

Horrible is a strong word it was a failure

Vb was good though

I played my Virtual Boy for hours on end without ever having issues.

Everything looked green whenever I'd take my face out of the VB!

#

I cheat nowadays.. leave the VB on display and use the Quest 3 for VB 😂

obsidian pine
#

I use red viper when I don’t want to get out of bed but there’s something about the VB hardware that keeps me coming back to it.

#

Most of the systems in the 90s flopped. They pretty much all have games I want to play though, even the cdi.

#

I think the world would be a better place if Twisted were getting sequels made instead of Mario Party.

Brian?

cobalt zephyr
#

So not sure if this has been asked but is the new 3DO port of MKII better than the 32X hack?

real rapids
#

It's certainly much closer to arcade visually. Can't speak for how it plays though. It does include some really cool 3DO themed secrets like R•E•A•Lities.

#

oh really I would have thought it had plenty of colors

#

thanks for the response

real rapids
#

The characters in the 3DO are way larger for example.

real rapids
#

Yeah, 32X is basically just a Genesis plus an extra layer that the 32X itself would render. So a little more capable colorwise compared to a vanilla Sega Genesis, but not by much.

cobalt zephyr
#

aww

real rapids
#

SNES still produces more on-screen colors than a 32X for example.

cobalt zephyr
#

damn I always assumed the reverse

real rapids
#

32X is an odd beast for sure. Like you could disconnect the video feed from the 32X and actually see the layer that the Genesis is producing still on screen.

visual sonnet
#

Damn I always thought 32X had a palette of 32,768 with 256 max colors on screen compared to the Genesis palette of 512 with max of 64 on screen

silent oak
#

I like 3DO artwork but it doesn't mesh well with vectors

#

It gets pretty bad when there's painted water surface later on

#

The later bitmap pixely backgrounds of Anniversary Editions are way more in tune with vectors

#

You're basically seeing them in the Jaguar version

#

-# I am just miffed nobody dumped the Jag version

#

-# don't tell me to buy it, it's one hell of a collector piece at collector prices

karmic basin
#

Buy it.

short vale
#

This makes sense because the 3DO is the best system ever in human history. Or so I hear.

#

I’ll probably buy a 3DO actually

#

A real one. I’ve been scanning eBay everyday since I have a particular model I’m looking for

#

But it has to be in nice shape.

#

Any 3DO owners here? Any issues with your hardware yet?

#

I always wanted a Saturn, 3DO and a few other consoles when I was a kid

#

Now I should just do it.

#

Complete the collection.

paper totem
#

I have a 3DO, they run well FZ-1 is a very solid unit

karmic basin
#

Only one I’d avoid is the Goldstar.

#

Panasonic units are great

visual sonnet
#

I've owned the FZ-1 and FZ-10. Never had an issue with either. Got them both recapped recently as well

#

I've heard Goldstars can be troublesome

#

I've always wanted the Japanese Sanyo model. Thing looks so damn sexy

#

I love the look of the FZ-1 too. Just looks like a nice high end piece of 90e high fi gear

short vale
#

The FZ-1 does look really good

#

Reminds me of my CDJs

#

I think I'll order one from Japan (on Ebay) and get one with that switch at the back.

#

This apparently forces it into 240p rather than displaying 480i

dense remnant
#

Yep

obsidian pine
#

Yeah, as a bonus some games run super fast in 240p

short vale
#

Awesome

obsidian pine
#

So if you are skilled enough you could beat Dragons Lair in like ten minutes

short vale
#

It was Video Game Esoterica's Mortal Kombat video that made me think "actually I really have always wanted one of these" haha

#

And yeah, 3DO just would be a fun one to have on display in the gaming room

#

Got a CRT too so... will be fun times.

obsidian pine
#

I got mine at the start of the year and made a joke that now we would finally get a mister core

#

And here we are lol

short vale
#

Hah yeah. I am definitely excited for the core as well.

#

I actually sold a lot of my video game stuff when I got the MiSTer but kept the systems I really liked.

#

I sold my "backup" systems. ie I once had two Sega Saturns, both modded and recapped by me, and sold one.

obsidian pine
#

I boxed up most of mine but kept them

short vale
#

But I actually regret selling that one since it was the Black North American version and damn it looked sleek and cool.

#

I now have a Japanese white one, which I liked better at the time. Was my second Saturn. So I'll also "rebuy" the black Saturn cuz I miss it.

obsidian pine
#

I have six or seven I use the most hooked up to the RT4k still with the mister

short vale
#

Yeah, I actually sold my Retro Tink. It was not the 4k version, it was the regular one... but I'm thinking of getting the 4k for fun.

#

I kinda sold it with the intention of "one day" getting the 4k

obsidian pine
#

I have a V Saturn but I have to regularly talk myself out of getting a hi Saturn when I see them on eBay for a decent price

short vale
#

As much as I love the MiSTer I really do love the original consoles sometimes.

obsidian pine
#

I don’t miss fiddling with them

#

Like is my NES going out or do I just have to clean the pins again?

#

Or my copy of Chrono trigger won’t save unless I wedge a piece of cardboard behind it to keep it in tight

#

I had to get a snax though because I need the OG controllers or it just doesn’t feel right

short vale
#

haha right, i haven't tried a snax yet but have thought of checking it out

#

so far i've been happy with the 8bitdo controllers

#

i use them both wirelessly and wired.

#

i figured whenever the 3DO core is out I'd just use the M30 or the neo geo controller I already have

obsidian pine
#

Yeah those are great I use the m30 and sn30 with my pocket dock

short vale
#

I already downloaded like 60ish games for the Saturn hehe

#

Oops, I mean\

#

For the 3DO

#

And I don't even have a 3DO yet...

#

But I am picky!

#

Gotta get a nice one 😄

#

I noticed 3DO has S-Video. That'll be nice. But my Gamecube already uses S-Video... which means... I may just need a new switch!

#

Will have to look for a good passive S-Video switch.

#

And you know what? S-Video looks GREAT better than I remember.

obsidian pine
#

Yeah, I have mine using the enhanced S Video on the RT4K and I am pleased. Looks way better than I remember S Video looking in the 90s lol

short vale
#

Also, when I grew up, we had a Sony Trinitron. Everything looked crystal clear and super nice.

#

XBR model. Great TV. But no RGB of course or even Component. Best we had was S-Video.

#

But I tell ya, I think the JVC D-Series rivals or even beats that old TV of my youth.

#

The JVC has this fun look to it. It's not as surgical as the Trinitron, but beautiful colors.

dense remnant
#

I absolutely loved both of my 27" Trinitrons throughout the '90s and early '00s. Glorious picture.
S-Video on those is what I remember most fondly with the SNES, 3DO, PlayStation, and N64.

short vale
#

Nice.

#

Hey look what I found. Brand new in box, under $1000

#

It is not the model I prefer though.

#

But still pretty cool.

Looks so immaculate.

There's so many unique gems on this console man. You'll be surprised just how damn good the console is

Like you know how you see a game and go. "Damn this is truly next gen..." That was FIFA on the 3DO

short vale
visual sonnet
short vale
#

Always fun to add a new console to the collection and explore it.

visual sonnet
#

I love helping people discover the gems on this great console

#

There's nothing more enjoyable than discovering new retro games to play especially on a new platform

short vale
#

It will bring me back to 2013 when I was just trying a ton of consoles for the "first" time (I put it in quotes since I did try the consoles at friends houses waaaaay back in the day) but owning a console yourself and getting to know it well is really special.

short vale
#

It really blew me away.

#

And the Genesis.

#

I have a deep love for both systems now.

visual sonnet
#

Oh hell yeah

short vale
#

I grew up in a household where my parents had a strict rule: only one video game console allowed in the house.

#

They made me box up my NES after I got the SNES.

visual sonnet
#

Ah. That's how it was for me simply out of affordability

#

Had my console and our PC

short vale
#

And wouldn't allow me to get the Genesis, I'd have to give up the SNES, which I wouldn't go for.

visual sonnet
#

Yeah that's a tough ask

short vale
#

Yes, we did get a PC too later on, and I was into that

#

That somehow didn't count 😄

visual sonnet
#

Haha

#

The DOS core on MiSTer is pretty damn good too

#

Hundreds of great DOS games are playable with it

short vale
#

Oh yeah it definitely is

visual sonnet
#

And windows 3.1 games too

short vale
#

I played some Wolfenstein!

#

It ran butter smooth

visual sonnet
#

Hell yeah!

#

Wolfenstein on 3DO is really damn good.

#

Better than the PC version I dare say

short vale
#

Oh wow! That's great.

#

If it has good save capabilities, I might just play it all the way through again.

visual sonnet
#

The Doom port unfortunately is really rough

short vale
#

Haha yes, I heard

visual sonnet
#

I think you can save after each level

short vale
#

Great

#

Oh, I already downloaded a bunch of game isos to burn

#

But I think I'll buy the ones I really like.

#

Burn to try, if I like, buy

visual sonnet
#

If you enjoy dungeon crawlers...play AD&D Slayer.

#

Still one of my all time favorite games.

#

Randomly generated dungeons Everytime you play

#

Amazing soundtrack too

short vale
#

Wow, interesting. OK will for sure try.

#

One of the most fun times I had was I invited over a buddy when I first got my Saturn

#

I had burned like a ton of disks

#

We played so many games, laughing at many of them, having really good fun

visual sonnet
#

Those are great times

short vale
#

We both shared the fact that we wanted the Saturn a LOT back when it came out, but it was simply completely out of the question due to the insane price

#

Anyways, will probably have that similar experience with the 3DO this time

#

So yeah, just purchased one today hehe

#

with an extra conroller.

visual sonnet
#

I have more of these entire console libraries on a hard drive loaded onto my MiSTer and sometimes this summer a buddy of mine and I are gonna pick a console, make some homemade pizzas, drink some booze, eat pizza and try every game out in a consoles library

short vale
#

Stoked!

visual sonnet
#

There's some fun multiplayer games on 3DO too

short vale
visual sonnet
#

You two will enjoy Twisted the game show

short vale
#

Hahaha

#

Yeah, at first I thought damn, it's only made for one player? but then I saw the daisy chaining thing. lol. funny idea.

visual sonnet
#

The daisy chain system is wild

short vale
#

I wonder how many you can daisy chain? just two.. or more? maybe it's unlimited

visual sonnet
#

You can get up to like 12 players.

short vale
#

whoah! haha

visual sonnet
#

FIFA allowed up to 8 I think

short vale
#

that is pretty cool

visual sonnet
#

Way of the Warrior is a fun fighter.

short vale
#

Wild that the 3DO wasn't a "success" it kinda makes me wonder why

visual sonnet
#

If you want to experience the absolute worst game ever created...boot up shadow war of succession

short vale
#

hahaha

#

ok i do want to try

visual sonnet
#

The launch price of 699 doomed it

short vale
#

I have fun playing "bad" games too! hehe

visual sonnet
#

The head start it could've got was crushed by that price.

short vale
#

Kinda like how you watch a bad cheesy movie, but laugh at it, and have a good time...

visual sonnet
#

They used a very different business model compared to everyone else.

#

Instead of losing in hardware n making it up on software...3DO licensed the hardware design to manufacturers. They had no way to make money back so the hardware was sold to profit or break even

short vale
#

Damn

visual sonnet
#

Eventually Panasonic got into software publishing which probably helped lower the cost later in its life

#

But it was too late by then

short vale
#

Yeah, seriously... I dunno if you had the same experience as me, but whenever I'd buy an EGM or Game Pro magazine, I would of course read the SNES portion but always scour the 3DO and Saturn games.. wishing I had the systems.

visual sonnet
#

Electronic Arts was a huge supporter of the console since 3DO's founder was also the founder of EA

#

So there are a ton of great EA games on the 3DO

short vale
#

Oh cool

visual sonnet
#

Oh yeah when I read my gaming maga for Genesis stuff, I looked at the 3DO stuff in pure awe.

short vale
#

Totally

#

Heh, exciting. I'll get my 3DO in the next week or two... so will share photos here and the journey!

visual sonnet
#

John Madden Football is solid on 3DO. EA even did a baseball game for it but it's a Japanese only release

#

Definitely get ahold of me when you do! I wanna see the setup and help you discover other wild games

short vale
#

Interestin. I would love to play those.

visual sonnet
#

So much unique stuff on it

#

If you love unique stuff you'll love whacky shit like Icebreaker and Gridders

#

The horde.

short vale
#

Oh yeah for sure I like wacky stuff.

visual sonnet
#

So many cool games.

short vale
#

32 bit era is full of those crazy games

visual sonnet
#

32 bit wra was the wild west of gaming

#

I miss those days so much. Infinitely better than today's era

short vale
#

3d was pretty new

visual sonnet
#

Exactly

#

Innovation and risk taking

short vale
#

they even tried fmv

visual sonnet
#

Now it's just remakes and remasters

short vale
#

and some of those games are hilarious

visual sonnet
#

Oh for sure. I love some cheesy FMV games

#

I recently played thru night trap for the first time ever and loved it. Played the 3DO version too

short vale
#

hah wicked

#

I still haven't actually played that one

#

Even tho I totally should have

#

I think I played it just once for a short time.

#

But yeah, should play the whole thing through.

visual sonnet
#

I played the crap outta Ground Zero Texas and Tomcat Alley when I had my Sega CD as a kid

#

Dracula Unleashed was a really fun FMV game too

short vale
#

Right, I love the sega cd. I started playing it after purchasing the Mega SD

#

I remember when it came out.

#

A friend got it, and we went to his house, and I was kinda in awe even tho the colors and pixels were crazy with the video

#

But was just new and interesting to see

visual sonnet
#

I know many dog on the Sega CD but I loved it.

#

I enjoyed the hell out of mine as a kid

#

People can go "but it only had FMV games" and I just laugh. That consist of less than 20% of the consoles library.

It had great RPGs. Great strategy games. And great platformers

short vale
#

Oh yeah for sure. It has a really cool library. No doubt.

#

And yeah, fmv games are on there but deffo not all

#

It was amazing to see video firstly, but also cd quality music

#

Mindblowing at the time.

#

Sega CD was actually a big success for Sega

#

That's why they got frisky and came out with the 32x which was the true failure imo

#

I actually do have a 32x now

#

I remember once in Costco seeing a 32x (new) for like $49.99 on clearance way back when it was dying out. I remember then feeling sad that it didn't "make it"

visual sonnet
#

My uncle got a 32x at eb games for $20 and the games were $5 a piece when they were clearing em out. We had a ton of fun with it

#

The Terminator on Sega CD was a hell of a gem

#

Had a great Spiderman game too

short vale
#

Yeah. Actually Spiderman was the first game I played on Playstation

#

The original PSX

visual sonnet
#

Nice!

short vale
#

That game also wowed me

#

But it wowed me in 2013 🙂

visual sonnet
#

It was very impressive

short vale
#

I think it really was.

visual sonnet
#

I'll play these games today and they blow me away seeing the thing people pulled off on old hardware

short vale
#

Oh for sure. I really respect what they did.

So many tricks they'd come up with

ConsoleMods Wiki

The 3DO Interactive Multiplayer is a console from the fifth generation of video game consoles. The console was launched in North America on October 4th, 1993 followed by Japan (March 20th, 1994) and Europe (June 11th, 1994). Developed by The 3DO Company, the hardware was licensed and manufactured separately by Panasonic, Sanyo, and GoldStar. Sev...

#

202 and 203 also have copyright protection

#

GDO 101 is typically found in the US and Korea. 202 was more common in parts of Europe and Russia, and I don't think it released in the US. 203 was originally believed to be a Korean exclusive, but I believe it has a small release in Russia and eastern Europe. Either way, US 3do owners will probably never see a 202 or 203 in person unless they're buying one for themselves from the internet. European collectors should be the ones to be careful buying the goldstars regarding the 202 vs 101

Gold Star. Wasn't that a Korean company? Might be the modern day LG

#

GoldStar was a South Korean electronics company established in 1958. The corporate name was changed to LG Electronics and LG Cable on February 28, 1995, after merging with Lucky Chemical. LG Cable was spun off from LG Electronics and changed its name to LS Cable in 2005.

visual sonnet
#

Their OLEDS are great. Their LEDs can't display the color black to save their lives though

dire sinew
#

that’s the nature of LEDs

visual sonnet
#

Not really

#

Depends on if you use a VA panel or an IPS panel

#

You get deeper blacks with VA panels but wider viewing angles with IPS panels but blacks suffer as a result. I always sit straight on so I prefer the deeper blacks of a VA panel that Samsung and Sony use in their LED TVs

#

On LG LEDs blacks are pretty much grey, and they skimp on the dimming zones

visual sonnet
#

Their local dimming algorithms are also crap compared to Sony LEDs in the same price range

dense remnant
#

My old LG C8 OLED had horrific burn in from playing too much Smash Bros. Ultimate on it. But my newer C3 OLED has had zero burn in issues at all. so the newer OLEDs are definitely good on that front.

#

Well Tim many people have have burn in problems with older OLED's, so for quite some time it was a viable concern.

dense remnant
#

I've had my 65" LG OLED B6 for almost 10 years now (2016 model), and zero burn-in as well... but I am extremely picky about what I choose to display on it.
It definitely has its issues with temporary image retention though. Some colors are far worse than others. Yellow is probably the worst. Menu items for something like Amazon Prime Video or Plex will leave behind a shadow for a long time after approximately 30 seconds of being on-screen in one place.

#

It's a minor annoyance at most though, but it's always something I'm mindful of.

visual sonnet
#

I use my OLED as my desktop monitor. To be safe I just use transparanet icons, and wallpaper engine for active desktop backgrounds. 3 years in and no worries so far. I buy tv's so frequently myself, but if i get 3 or 4 years out of it, I'm satisified, but obviously for some, that's the tv they're gonna use for the next 5-10 years, so I can see why others would absolutely be concerned about it.

#

At least among Sony and LG OLEDs anyways

#

The only thing that I will allow to burn into my OLED is the 3DO logo

oak owl
#

I haven't had burn in with my B7, so 8 years of use. But I do have uneven vertical lines that are seen at low luminance levels. Don't think I can complain much, I think the tv will fail before showing burn in.

visual sonnet
#

8 years is a hell of a run. Can't ask for much more than that. Plus it's probably safe to say those of us who use them here, probably use their TVs far more than the average consumer as well

dense remnant
#

I have never used my 2016 OLED for 'retro' content that typically has a lot of static elements on-screen. I have plenty of other TVs and monitors for that (I use MiSTer primarily on my main 34" ultrawide monitor at 1440p which still looks fantastic). I'm even picky about modern games with PS4/PS5 for the same reason. I'll play something like Titanfall 2 because its HUD elements are always shifting based on movement, but I won't play something like Final Fantasy Remake/Rebirth on it.
If a game does have HUD elements, the ones I play the most on my OLED are the ones that have options where the HUD disappears automatically and only reappears briefly under certain conditions (Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, etc.)... so-called 'immersive HUD'.
Yes, it's a bit of an inconvenience, but I've grown accustomed to it. It's a choice I made years ago, and it's a choice that has allowed my OLED to be blemish-free all these years later. I don't expect anyone else to do the same or to even understand my reasons for doing it... because I don't really care. It's my TV, and I do whatever I feel is necessary to protect my investment and make it last as long as possible... and the cost of that investment was not insignificant back then.

#

An upgraded OLED model would be nice, especially with the improvements in the technology now that has gone a long way to mitigating or even eliminating those concerns now... but my next TV is most likely going to be a Bravia 7/9.

Not an occams razor here, it more so has to do with the fact you only had one game to get at launch. Over the years, consumers have proved time and time again they will spend ANYTHING to consume... But you have to have something to consume. Japanese launch was way better and the main difference is it had a good selection of games at launch

This is not related to the 3DO so I won't discuss this topic further. 😉

visual sonnet
#

Here I am living in the dark ages. I load the console core, then bring up the menu, and browse the directory of all the games and pick what I wanna play 😂

dense remnant
#

All this tapping and MGLing. What'll these kids think of next?

#

I still browse through the ROMs, find the one I want, blow on it a couple times, then insert it in the menu.

marble jetty
#

Maybe I’m just stuck in my ways or how I approach game selection but I do MGL files since it’s faster for me to browse through those lists without loading a console core first.

#

It’s not better, sometimes I am in an N64 mood and go straight to that core or load the Turbo core first.

Anyone interested in buying a 3DO?

It has a working optical drive with a copy of waialae...

However the CD trays front has a hole cut in it because I bought an ODE I never got to work, I forgot the name of it .but it was the same person who created the gdemu .

That will also be included along with one controller

#

If that was a nono.. delete or just tell me.. I just want homies here to get a chance before I toss it on eBay

short vale
#

I think the price is the original sin per se

#

But the final head chop came from Sony

#

With their mic drop price drop

#

That scared the investors, stock holders, and the loosely aligned coalition supporting the 3DO

#

That's why a monolithic corporation like Sony could win in that situation.

#

Man, Sony won that generation...

visual sonnet
#

Sony walking into dev studios and just buying exclusivity on so many games hurt 3DO too

short vale
#

Now it seems Nintendo and Sony (barely Sony) are the stragglers

#

Nintendo is the pure exclusives company tho

#

Won't find Mario on a Playstation or Xbox or Steam!

#

I am sure there's an alternate reality out there where Nintendo died or kinda ended up more like Atari

#

or even Sega

#

But no, Nintendo is soooo strong still. How? haha

#

I guess they just found their niche.

real rapids
#

Nintendo survived by being good at business.

visual sonnet
#

I've never been a big Nintendo guy personally

real rapids
#

Even when they were failing with the Wii U, they had literally billions in the bank. They weren't going to die any time soon.

visual sonnet
#

But they survive because they don't sell their hardware at a loss like everyone traditionally does

short vale
visual sonnet
#

And yeah they got so much money in the bank they can afford a few failures

real rapids
#

And during the Switch era, they made nearly as much money as all their other console generations combined.

#

That includes handhelds.

visual sonnet
#

I love gained a ton of respect for the SNES but that's bout it for me. And the NES is good

short vale
#

I had no idea back then.

visual sonnet
#

I just hate their unchecked arrogance

short vale
#

I thought the Wii U was gonna be the death of them. But nope. Didn't hurt them at all.

#

Then I learned later about how cash rich they are.

visual sonnet
#

And their determination to try and make emulation illegal

real rapids
#

There is a lot I don't like about Nintendo. A lot. But I also still love them, because they just make hella good games.

visual sonnet
#

I mean it's not the devs fault there

#

There's the development side and the company side

#

It's like trying to separate the artist from the art.

short vale
real rapids
#

There's the dark side of Nintendo. And the amazing game company that has made banger after banger for 40 years.

visual sonnet

visual sonnet
#

But I totally get why other people will still support them

visual sonnet
#

I was always a diehard Sega guy and Sega is essentially dead now

#

It's just a new company using the name today

short vale
#

Yeah, it sucks when you have someone who you admire, who made some media you absolutely love, then find out something about them that makes you wanna puke

My god those are great consoles.

#

My favorite is probably the Saturn tho

visual sonnet

Master System does have some great stuff

But the Genesis was something else

short vale

I like the Saturn cuz it's still pretty 2d

visual sonnet
#

I wish the Dreamcast had lasted just one more year on the market

#

We would've got so many more great games

short vale
#

Dreamcast really was awesome tho

#

Like, when I bought it, I was just so impressed with it

#

Soul Calibur blew me away

real rapids
#

The Saturn was pretty rough outside of Japan at the time, but even then there were still some incredible games.

short vale
#

Shenmue was an experience on another level. Felt like two generations ahead.

visual sonnet

I went from SNES to Shenmue. Think about that.

warm kiln
# real rapids Nintendo survived by being good at business.

Nintendo survived by getting incredibly lucky with the Wii, and then with the Switch being the first mainstream portable AAA console by a mainstream company.

It gave them enough money in the bank to keep them active, despite having projects that otherwise ranged from mostly middling commercial sales to very major missteps (Virtual Boy, the collapse of SNES-CD, N64, N64-DD, GameCube, Wii U).

real rapids
#

I wouldn't call it lucky.

visual sonnet
#

I didn't think the Cube was a commercial failure was it?

#

I figured they made some money off it

real rapids
#

And it wasn't just the Wii. Pokemon was absolutely huge and they made a crap ton of money from it and selling handhelds to play it.

warm kiln

Yeah, it was the lowest selling mainstream console of its generation

The N64 didn't reach SNES heights but I figured it still did well

GCN still made money for them though.

I sold my black Saturn. Which I really regret.

Nintendo's only real genuine failure when it comes to their "main" consoles (as in, not handhelds or the Virtual Boy) was the Wii U.

Yes. It's sooooo cool. I am so happy that in 2012 or so I just had the idea of starting to get back into retro gaming and slowly collecting everything. Kinda like fullfilling a childhood fantasy but I might even enjoy these games MORE now than I would have as a teen

#

And I never played it by myself

#

Always with freinds, at their house, always with lots of beer

real rapids
#

I've never been a fan of the Switch as a handheld either, I use it almost exclusively in docked mode. But it has a ton of amazing games as well, so that's really I care about.

short vale

I decided even tho I might not play most games

#

But I want Metroid 😄
