If you don't have an analogue iO board and wind up with a spare 32MB then pop that in slot B and you have a dual ram set up 🙂

close. 16mbyte are reserved now, so 16mbyte max for 32mbyte ram module, 48 for 64mbyte module and 64mbyte for 128mbyte module. Everything above 64mbyte is completly untested and might not work due to missing address lines
as most games are either 16/32/64, the sizes between don't really matter

Tried the unpatched Europe version of Perfect Dark. FPS is around 10-25 fps. But seems playable enough. Maybe it's the normal speed.

i always try to fix regressions immidiatly, especially in cases where a regression makes no sense. The update should not influence any non-TLB game, but it does for me

Avermedia doesn't have any 4:3 modes but all the Elgato ones do if you manually type in the 4:3 res into OBS. So Avermedia you always have to run the resize filter on it.

The general approach of striving for accuracy of the mister cores is what I love about this project so much. With software emulation, especially on convenient/low powered stuff like the Pi, I always have concerns in the back of my mind that slowdown is caused by my use of underpowered hardware (I don’t have a killer machine connected to my TV). Having confidence that any slowdown is because it’s accurate gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. 😅

Ok so can any help me problem solve this: I'm using a tribute 64 controller, in Perfect Dark it seems the game thinks my control stick and d-pad is the same thing
nes emulator requires tlb
when you map the controller in the core, up/down/left/right refer to the dpad. dont map anything to the analog stick it'll just find it by itself

Add "wide" tag detection to database. Auto-switches to widescreen if found.
Prioritize N64-database_user.txt, so that people can override games already in the regular database file.
Honour order that rpak, cpak and tpak are written in database, for p1 controller.

It went dormant for years though so I thought it would never be finished.
@wanton sun Now I've modified main so that each mpak get a different header. I did it the lazy way and just pre-generated 4 paks and grabbed the first 768 bytes and put them in a [4][768] array. 🙂
yxkalle, testing the MiSTer unstable you've made. Working great. Just to confirm;
Pokémon Stadium 2 test. Old ".sav" still in the folder. I also now have;
- Pokemon Stadium 2 (Europe).fla (128KB)
- Pokemon Stadium 2 (Europe).tpk (32KB)
Would the additional TPAK of ports 2 - 4 only be populated once that capability is added?
Also, I took the ".tpk" file and renamed to a Pokémon Crystal GB save. Worked flawlessly! No endian swapping or anything needed. This is great!
You can't mount a tpak in those ports so... I will add it if support in the core is added. 🙂

Testing GB export from 32KB TPAK with Mario Golf. Seems to not care about the larger GB SAV file size.
At least from a cursory initial test. Loaded in just fine on GB. Seem to be able to save and reload.
Might be worth someone familiar with the GB core confirm there's no ill side effects from larger SAV files, but perhaps it is just being ignored?

Not sure if that is the best change, would make the GB saves subsequently oversized (if these were all pulling from the same pool), and no longer match original hardware for that section of save file conversions

Minor one, but as far as boot order goes, Mario Golf using TPAK defaulted to Rumble, and in that game, TPAK only seems to integrate if booted with TPAK in place.
Only took a reset to fix, but a game that would miss it otherwise.
Can't recall the earlier order discussion, but could TPAK be above the others (perhaps only if GB ROM loaded, or just generally?)

I'm able to load my Pokemon data with my actual carts via TransferPak when the I have SNAC set as the first port, but can't seem to get anything to be read when SNAC is set in ports 2-4. Is this a known limitation?

SNAC is 1:1 so your SNAX will simulate ports 1 and 2, the future coming SNAX64 will have 4 ports (but 3/4 are for n64 core only) and will support what you’re trying to do

Mario Tennis TPAK use is probably the most interesting use case I've ever seen!
First linking the GB game to N64 allows trasfer of GB characters, adding to N64 roster.
Back on GB core, you've got new Mario charcters, and sets of character themed minigames for each of them.
Beat level 1, unlock 2, endless level 3.
(After mixed online reports, I can confirm just beating level 3 with a score of 100 is not enough to get N64 unlocks. Surprisingly even 223 was not enough, but 246 was. I struggled to get to 250/300. Glad I tried another transfer. Who knows what score is needed for each minigame......)

Couldn't recall your post so searched the discord. Realised I was asking for a change in TPAK order that you may have had a better understanding of from test.
I guess CPAK before TPAK in your experience. My issue is TPAK detection for the Camelot games, where they have RPAK + TPAK.
Perhaps there is no clash there, but would CPAK > TPAK > RPAK for priority be an improvement?

@weary palm I tested out that new update where you can manually set a game to prioritize the rumble pak over the controller pak in the auto detect. Works perfectly! 🎉 
German South Park, Shadow Man and Turok Legenden des Verlorenen Landes have been updated to playable.
You can actually set the order of priority manually now on a game by game basis with today's MiSTer main unstable update.

It's an issue with the save type. If you change it to any wrong type, the game will boot. But the correct save type is for some reason preventing that game from booting. You can change it, have the game boot, and then change it back so the game can save. But there is no means of having the game load that save.

Ahh, thanks, good workaround. I guess I'd still want to ask if the default order would be better re-arranged, if only to avoid a particular clash that requires a game reset if that is possible. Perhaps there are other games where Rumble before TPAK would be better, but I couldn't think of any personally
Well, if there is a way to see if a GB ROM is even loaded at all. If not, I can imagine people playing various TPAK supporting games with no GB ROM, and Rumble might be preferred
Ok, that's it - in the ROW category, there's only one game left that doesn't boot, which is Banjo Tooie (Australia). Everything else in ROW is at least playable. I haven't re-tested all the ones that were already marked as playable, just the ones that were no-boots or boots only, so this won't reveal regressions or improvements beyond playable, but it's nice to see the progress.

is it an option to allow different save types to exist for a game? or is it a tool for save file transferring?
Previously the whole save was just one file. Now it splits into every sub section; base save, CPAK (if used), TPAK (if used)
If you use the test build with existing saves, might consider backing up first to be safe, but from my experience it will take an existing save and reformat to the new split style, but leave the previous version as a redundancy.
It being altered to this new form makes save file transferring a lot easier
Oh... I didn't notice when this happened, but the screen flash-up before the DK64 demo mode and the puzzle construction in BK / BT demo modes is fixed.

using the experimental MiSTer main that splits the saves, it seems like if the game isn't in the database it doesn't know what to do so it just freezes when loading a rom. Reverted back to stable MiSTer main and they work again.

OoT has two issues: when teleporting with a song, the animation has some lines in the transparent effect and sometimes a single polygon is not drawn, like 1 every few minutes

the fps counter works by detecting a change of the framebuffer address. In interlace mode, every frame changes the address by 1 line. Maybe i could check if the difference is "large enough" to be a real change
in case of turok however, i would just use low-res, it's better anyway

Hi @tender pine, I am using the Raphnet a (Dual/ 2 player version) as well and have the same issue. Did you fix it? I've tried various things such as uninstalling the N64 controller input files, re-mapping in Main using different configurations and then again in the N64 core and running update all, but to no avail. Perfect Dark also controls incorrectly with the y and x axis, I think, using the default control scheme, Joanna looks up/ down whilst walking. Sensitivity also seems too strong, notable when moving up and down in menu options, but would have to compare against my N64 to be sure. The analogue stick with Quake II seemed to function OK, though. Thanks

if they are 100% reproduceable at the same spot, 0x40 is very helpful (0x60 is the same with one additional bit, so this also)

The levels are well-designed but all custom tracks really reminds you of how good nintendo are at directing the player through the track
I did. Use today built. Xeno Crisis is not database detectable and don’t freezes anymore. Unfortunately, the wide screen auto-detect didn’t work for me (or I don’t know how to enable it😀)
You add "wide" tags into the database
@wanton sun would it be possible to add a non-persistant "aspect ratio override" status flag so that the aspect ratio isn't kept wide if you leave the core while playing a game that use my new "wide" flag?
The aspect ratio has some magic with it to be able to display settings from the mister.ini, i don't know how much i can change it
with magic, i mean code in main doing something with it
maybe you can use that existing code in main and modify it for the core? i don't know.
I don't have XC header or md5 so I can't add it.
