None -> controller pak does work

trim seal

fair stump
trim seal
#

But starting in rumble, going to CPAK works in the pak option menu, then you exit it and it re-prompts to insert rumble, which I do, but it doesn't work BUT the menu thinks the CPAK is still in.
I think the Rumble isn't asserting some other condition for detection in-game, only at startup.

#

To clarify, in the pak menu of WCW nitro, with the CPAK in, when you leave the menu and it asks for rumble pak, it doesn't recognise it when you change it in the OSD, so pressing "continue anyway" and going back into the pak menu, it still thinks the CPAK is in.

I can't imagine the speed of the switch would cause the problem -it doesn't seem to matter going from rumble to cpak, only the other way, and it still thinks cpak is in. Seems more like a flag of some kind not being set or cleared.

Sorry for being so late in responding to this but I can confirm this is also an issue for me.

An easy way to test is with Army Men: Sargeโ€™s Heroes. If you load the core first and then that game, the controller pak saves shows up correctly (itโ€™s part of game boot sequence). If you load the game via an mgl file it doesnโ€™t recognize the controller pak save and says itโ€™s empty.

What is an MGL file exactly?

I had that happen without even using an mgl. Rush 2049 lost my player record, but when I went to make a new player with the same name, it said it already existed...

Itโ€™s a text file that serves as a means to load a game directly instead of having to go into the core first. Basically itโ€™s a short instruction set that says โ€œwhen this file is opened, boot this core then load this gameโ€.

It's a reference to a Demetri Martin joke. A joke that has--upon reflection--not aged super well, tbh.

Oh. You were making me think of the brawler64 pad. It was a real pain, too. Until @orchid nimbus swooped in and saved the day, that is.
