If the first card played on the game is Sigil, it doesn’t affect with -18 power the cards your opponent played on the same turn.
Okay, obviously since is a return effect, so those cards were already played by the time the game reached the Return abilities face.
Then… why can’t Plague Doctor activate it’s return ability if played on the right and Death on the left, that doesn’t count as being played?

Your opponent's effects are tracked first, and cards are tagged as having been played after return effects are completed. It seems like this means that your opponent's turn effectively ends before your return abilities are processed

Yeah it's a little silly but most cards act like plague doctor (especially older ones) so I doubt anyone noticed it would make a difference when they were coding
